VERY TRUE.  You have to picture your baby as an adult when you name them.  You'd think it'd be common sense to some people.  Guess not.

Um, it's okay if you think this is stupid, but I'm trained in reading statements to tell if someone is lying or not.  The one about Sam where she changes tense in the sentence twice would indicate that it's a lie.

I can't wait til my birthday so I f*ed him yesterday while DH is at work.

I'm with you, Kiki, and everyone else who thinks that the resume one is shiit.

And the Judgy McJudgerson one about the e-rings?  My e-ring isn't ugly, but it WAS cheap.  I'd rather be married than wait another few years so that FI could propose with a ring that meets some unknown's exacting standards.  I would have said yes if he proposed with a twist tie.

Very interesting.  I wonder if you could tell if MrsTayPrince was lying by deciphering one of her posts.

EXACTLY.  It reminds me of when Tide said she didn't go to a doctor with a name she couldn't pronounce.  She knew it was wrong of her, but at least she said it.  I recruit doctors at my job and I can't pronounce HALF of their names.  I only begin to judge them when they can't read the freaking directions I give them for completing paperwork.  The craziest part is, it's always the Dr Smiths and Jones that get it wrong.

Incidentally, they broke up.  And she's been with her current BF for 5 years with no ring...

  • I've noticed that around me Target is generally cleaner/more organized than Wal-Mart, but I'm sure that's not the case everywhere.
    image
  • Maybe because Fargo isn't huge there isn't a gigantic divide between the Targeters and the Walmarters, but I think the new walmart here in town is way nicer than Target.

  • The Wal-Mart by my house is always insanely crowded, so I go to Target.  Crowds make me sad.  Also, I always feel like Wal-Mart stuffs too many things into the store, so the aisles are narrow, which also makes me sad.

  • yeah, ditto Arb and Kiki as far as Target compared to Wal-mart for me.

  • The Target closest to me is nicer than the Walmart, but Walmart has better prices.

She's really not a shallow person, I think she wants Tiffany's so bad because her mom has always bought her the sterling silver collection.  All those charms and whatnot, so she loves Tiffany.

I just always think about the deal Nick got on my ring.  He got it from a guy who makes the rings himself.  Nick paid about half of what it would cost in a store.

If you can shop around for a better deal, I'm all for it.  However, I also bought the Kroger brand of oreo's the other day because they were a dollar less...so there's that.

  • The difference between the Target and Walmart back home is honestly that it seems like only poorer people go to Walmart. Yes, I realize how horrible that sounds, but I'm making an observation. Target is where upper middle class people would go to save money on basics, but they probably wouldn't go into the Walmart (even though they're literally across the street from each other).
  • The Wal-Mart here is definitely trashier than the Targets.  More crowded, dirtier, generally crappier clothes (at least for adults - the kids' stuff seems fine), crappier home goods, longer lines, etc.   It's a depressing place to be in.  The lighting is also always wonky, with shuddery neon lights everywhere.  It's not well-run at all.   That's also true for the Shopkos in the area, although they've improved lately.

  • I shop at both Target and Walmart.  I find Target is easier to get around.  With Walmart, I have to go from one end to the other and its frustrating.

T did this with my ring.  He had quotes at two different jewelry stores and was going back and forth between the two making them bid against each other.  They knew he was doing it and they both kept going down on their prices.  Then one lady started offering him some Santa dollars and other things.  He got an EXCEPTIONAL deal on my ring.  The price you pay for the ring doesn't bring the appraisal down by any means.   Also, our wedding bands cost the same, he talked the guy down so far that we bought both of them for the price of one.

I say why pay full price for anything when people are willing to lower it with just a little convincing?
  • We have a new Walmart on one side of town and a newly renovated Walmart on the other, and so I think they're now equal to Target. In fact, the renovated Walmart has wider aisles than Target now.

I mainly shop at Walmart because it's cheaper than Target for most daily items. I go to Target for "cute" stuff.
  • "If you don't have the money, why are you shopping anyway?"

Um, because I need groceries. And it's either there, or the Dollar General. Hello, judgy heifer. Please come move to my small a*ss town and see if you don't shop at Wal-Mart too.
