Friday Night!

Re: Friday Night!

• Oh god, MuSu. That's so sad. I can't imagine watching it. I've watched my grandpa die, but it was in a hospital and we pulled the plug. It was such a different situation. That makes me sad. :( I hope your friends that witnessed it are doing ok.

They did, for a while. Understandably so, of course. I will never forget that night. It was Thanksgiving and my birthday celebration. I don't think I will ever witness a more disturbing amount of grief again. Unless of course someone else I'm close to dies so suddenly.
And....here's my unpopular opinion. No way would I go back in to save an animal.  And I would be PISSED if FI did either. and I LOVED my dog.  I still love her and miss her and she's been gone for four years.  I cry sometimes for missing her.   And I would feel like a horrible person for letting an animal die in a fire. BUT, my or FI's life is more important than an animal to me. flame away.

Yeah, after seeing how devastated his entire family was, and how they kept wishing they could go back in time and tell him not to worry about the dog, I feel the same way. I just would not wish his wife's pain or his son's life without his dad on anyone. It was horrible.

• I don't know if I could stop myself from going back in a burning house to get Fox. I don't flame anyone that wouldn't, though. That's a deeply personal choice and I would not say that anyone can really have a real understanding of it until they face the choice.

I don't think I'd LEAVE without Minka.

• Is Minka your cat? She's really cute.
• Yup.  That's Box Kitty.

• Yeah, J that is kind of my train of thought. I don't know that I'd leave the house without Tory. There was a fire alarm in my apt building last winter and it was an actual fire (just a small kitchen fire in another apt so nothing huge) and it was when Tory had just gotten her hip surgery. So even though it was dangerous for me to take as long as I did, I still got all my shiit on (because it was like 20 below and we had all that snow) and then strapped tory into her harness that I used to hold her belly since she couldn't walk fast at all. If J were there he might've carried her, but she was too heavy for me to risk messing up the newly fixed hip. So it took us forever to get out of the building but there was no way I was leaving without her.

</div><div>(this is if I somehow was trapped in a house fire with my dog who died years ago...)</div>
• I wouldn't leave without Butters either. He's always nearby though and my current place is like the size of a box so it's not like I'd have to go running very far to get him.

• This conversation has taken a turn for the sad.
• That is exciting, Holly! :) You are way more ahead of it than I was. I think my first fitting was the first week of Dec, so only a month out from my wedding, hehe.

• With the story I just mentioned, it was the craziest freak accident ever. The propane tank that he was using to grill hamburgers on got lifted by some wind and hit their fire pit and exploded. Dad ran in to grab son, everyone bolted from the house. Then dad realizes pup is still in the house, and goes back in after him. So,  I can totally see getting out safely and not going back in. And just trying to get yourself and your family out safely.
Evening ladies.  I got to pull my wedding dress out of my dad's closet tonight.  I have my first fitting tomorrow.  Yay!  I'm excited to wear my dress again.  My mom and I showed my wedding shoes to FI - he was surprised that they weren't white.  And this is quite the uplifting conversation y'all are having.

Oh, Holly, you should have heard it when FI's family found out my shoes are blue.

You would think i had murdered kittens and put them on my feet.

One of them told him "You can't let her wear those shoes"

FYI: these are the shoes.  CLICKY.  Clearly controversial.
• Holly, I met a really friendly doctor in Hawaii who had a long conversation w/ J and I at our resort. I thought of you because he was from Alabama and was a SUPER Auburn fan.

</div><div>I love that color! Obviously you are wild for wanting colored shoes.

• I'm not having ANY fittings at all.  Isn't that crazy?  I let the salon manager talk me into a smaller size than the chart said because she said I wouldn't need any alterations.

and I don't!
• The dress was a sample gown so it fit me "ok" when I got it but it was a bit big still. After the alterations lady got to it, omg it was like a second skin it fit so well. I am amazed at what they can do.

• Well, see since my dress ISN'T A BALL GOWN people will SEE MY FEET.

I'm such a hoar in my tea length dress.
• I had awesome pink heels. And I got married on a beach. Wearing no shoes. I don't think u even brought the pink ones with me. But when I wear them I still tell people they were the shoes I bought for my wedding.

• That's really pretty Holly!

I like the lace at the hem- it looks like the lining stops higher?
• Yeah, my dress wasn't a ballgown either. heh.
Musu, that's awesome!  Auburn fans are everywhere.  And it's sweet that you thought of me :)
Posted by Holly4212011
Seriously, the guy was wearing a blue polo, had an orange Auburn hat on and his watch was orange too, haha. He said he has season tickets and went to the championship they were in last year. He seemed to have a lot of money too so there's that.

• And I currently have 7 pets in my house. No idea how I would get them a out. Though I have successfully rounded them up during tornado warnings pretty quickly.

• KJB- I love the barefoot beach thing.  And yeah, you still have to tell people those are your wedding shoes anyway (:

Chrissy- awww, thanks (:  If i can ever figure out how to get pictures off the camera and onto the interwebs, i'll AW my dress
• It seems like it is more common for brides to have colored shoes now anyway, so I don't think its all that weird. Mine were the crimson color that a lot of other parts of my wedding had. But I doubt many people saw them.
image
• You know, it seems like most people don't wear white...but people still ACT like everyone does.  It's a colored shoe, y'all.  I wear them just about every day.

I actually still have the white heels from my first wedding. They're awesome, but they're WHITE, so I never wear them.  What the hell do I wear them with?
• I am back! The conversation turned really sad when I left... Tucker would make it out not sure about the chinchillias and Hedgehogs. I would have to grad them since I am crazy like that.

Holly I love that dress so pretty! :D

Muni rock them I kinda wanted a tea length dress then my mom flipped shiit. But I am in love with THIS dress
Musu, my cousin went to the championship game last year when we were in it.  I can't recall what he paid for those tickets, but I know he's still paying them off his credit card.  He said it was worth every damn penny though.  I wanted to go to the championship game, but my bank account told me no.  Damn bank account.  I should go to more games than I do, since Auburn is only an hour from here, but it hasn't happened in a few years.  FI and I still have not gone to a game together.  We've been together for 3 years.  I hope this season we can change that pathetic statistic.

Yeah I can imagine they are expensive! This guy was a heart doctor that was involved in some pill patents or something... and he was friends with Steve Jobs' doctor. So.... he was doing well for himself, lol.
