Good Morning -

Day 9 of work in a row.  I'm pretty whooped today.  How is everyone?

Re: Good Morning -

  • Morning!  Sheesh, Stacks, that's a long time.  When's your next day off?

Day 3 of work with no boss....I'm off tomorrow to go to MA for the funeral (so I guess it's not really a "day off").  This afternoon I'm caving and going to see The Avengers with my little sister and then out to (cheap) dinner.  Should be a good day after 3 PM.

  • Stacks, you are a powerhouse.

Cfas, I just use two forks and work like it's dough, which means I don't boil it until it's completely cooked-- just long enough to make it kind of soft.

    Bay, HUGS.

    This is me today:

    Bye!
  • *HUGS* Snippy :)

Cfas, that's what I hear.  My sister has already seen it an obscene amount of times.  Comic book movies aren't really my thing, but enough people have told me that it's terrific that I figure, why not?  A night out will be fun.

  • Good morning!

I'm tired even before my work day has started.  What else is new?  Oh, I forgot about an important phone call last night (so I didn't make it).  And I forgot that I have another meeting this afternoon, so I have to re-do my mental post-work schedule.

Why must everything fall apart all at once?  Can't things time themselves in a more convenient way?
  •  Good Morning everyone!

Today is a day for getting organized.
  • Good morning! I finally managed to wake up at a decent time for the fist time in my SAHW adventure.

  • Cfas, I saw Two Towers four times.  I was also 19.  I would never do that again lol.  Considering that back then you could see a matinee for $5.  When we go tonight tickets are going to be like $10.25.

  • Morning!

    I am still exhausted.

I've decided I'm going to give my two weeks notice today. I think I may have said that before lol but I'm going to give my verbal notice today & my letter tomorrow. I still have 1 week of paid holiday with the company I want to take before I quit so I have to figure that out too.

  • Cfas, do you ahve a crock pot?  I always do my chicken that needs shredding in the crock pot.  In fact, I'm about to go put some there right now.

Morning!  It's Tuesday.  I have a sort of long day planned today, mostly because I need to grocery shop after work.  Blech.
Hi Anna! I'm so jealous of your current SAHW-ness. I have a feeling I would love it. I just need to tell H to double his salary. Cos that's super easy, right?
    Posted by cfaszews25
I love it so far. It might be better if I had a car so that the "stay at home" part wasn't quite so literal, but I can keep myself busy.

And I kind of need my H to double his salary too, haha. This is most definitely not something we can do on a long term basis. But it's easy not to spend money when you are trapped at home!

  • Good Morning!

    I love that graphic Snippy!

I saw How to Train Your Dragon too many times, but I watched it at the $2.50 theater several times. We are waiting until the Avengers makes it to the cheap theater to go see it, hopefully it'll be there soon.

Dileni, you might want to check your company's policy about using your vacation if you haven't already.  A lot of places don't let you use it during your notice period.  Mine never have.  They just pay it out on your last check.

  • Morning, cfas, I second the crock pot rec on chicken for shredding.  So easy and done when you get home.

Anna, how is the adventure going?  I think I could totally do that some day, Sad for me is that it won't be until I retire.
  • My next day off will be Friday, but I might go into work for a little bit then too!  But mostly b/c I'm greedy and it'll def all be OT pay.  We'll see what happens.

Chicken enchiladas are super tasty!  Trevor makes them so much better than me though, not sure why but I'm not going to try to get better b/c it's a night off of cooking for me when we have them then.

  • I thought the Avengers was great Bay. I hope you like it. I've been going to bed early and sleeping later than normal. I only get up because of the alarm I set so I don't sleep the day away.

  • Good Morning!

Went out last night with FI to our team trivia we go to on Monday nights.  We won another gift card for the restaurant, so that will pay for our dinner when we go again next Monday.  Win-win!  Then we got some DQ on the way home.  I had a Turtle Brownie Blizzard and it was awesome.  There's another DQ way too close to my office, so this may be dangerous.

I have a pot roast with carrots and potatoes in the crock for tonight, so that should be tasty.

  • I get a company dinner tonight.  Pride Week celebration for the employees who have been with the hospital for 20 + years.  I have only been here less than 2 years.  It will be fun to see who the employees are that have those years in and celebrate what they have done.

  • Hello all! I own the two towers on VHS and I've watched it probably 50 times, not exaggeration, probably more. I'm not really busy today, doing some last minute things and hoping to play some tennis later!

  • Meg, Last minute, like wedding last minute?  You are so close.
  • Good morning, again. Coffee is a wonderful thing.

I love my crockpot! I use it weekly.

I'm currently watching the weather, and it looks like we're in for some rain today. Yay! Last summer was a drought and we really don't need another one. It sucked.

And my summer squash plant up and died...I water my garden every day, so I don't get it. Maybe it's because I had it in one of those upside down planters, but this was a planter made for doing squash and peppers upside down. I hope that my zucchini doesn't die, it's looking kinda ill. Maybe I'll transplant it into one of the raised beds.

Does anyone have any experience growing zucchini? This is my first go round with it.
In Response to Re: Good Morning - : I'm sure I could find a way! Haha.  Are you planning on getting a second car eventually? And when do your classes start?
    Posted by cfaszews25
Yeah, I guess I do still manage to spend some money on Amazon.

We still don't know about the second car. Classes and work start in late August and I don't think I'll need a car to get to campus, but I guess I might change my mind about that. I want to look into getting a bike, or possibly a scooter, before I think about getting a car. And if I do get one it will probably be a beater.

  • Lizzie, you might be overwatering it. My H was taking care of my plants before I got down here and he managed to kill my squash and I think this was the problem. Only water if the soil looks dry.
For cooking in chicken in the crockpot for shredded -- how long do you put it in there? And with what liquid?
    Posted by cfaszews25
<div>I usually just leave it on low while I'm at work - so about 8 hours.  Or you could do on high for about 4.</div><div>
</div><div>Most of the time I'll put about 1/2 C of chicken broth or stock in with it.</div><div>
</div><div>ETA:  Oh and these are with frozen chicken.  Thawed would be less time of course.</div>

  • cfas, almost anything, a can of broth, water with spices, bbq sauce, wine, beer, root beer.

  • Good morning!  I've been MIA for the past few days, work has been crazy busy.

We got our final numbers to the caterer yesterday, and now I have to write the most depressing check of my life...final payment.  We're having 161 people, but man did things get expensive.

Anna, I am jealous of your SAHW status right now.  I would get so many things done.

  • My husband bought me a new Vera Wang coffee cup for work. It's so delicate and pretty.

All of the VPs from all the locations are here in our office today. One of them just made a really snide comment to me in front of other employees. What's funny is it just makes her employees look bad - she said I'm the person that kicks everything back to her people. Yes, I am, because your people ask for stupid stuff that they can't approve.
