Who's here? What's up?

I always come here to hang out on the weekends and it's deadsville. boo.

What's everybody up to today? who's here?

I'm taking a break from invites and looking to be distracted.

Re: Who's here? What's up?

  • I'm here! Waiting on my bread to rise so I can punch it down. I'm also watching my fair wedding which inspired me to look at snippet & ink. Oops.
  • mmm fresh bread... there's no smell like it. I live down the street from a huge bread factory, I love it when they cook the cinnamon bread.

  • Yes, there is no better smell. I wish I love above a bakery. I'd probably be a little fatteh though if I did that.
  • I just got done teaching golf lessons! Now I'm having a cocktail and heading out to dinner with my friend and her fiance. We're trying out a new pizza joint, going to see Prince of Persia, and then hitting up the UFC fight at BWW!

  • roxy- have you always been into baking or is this a new found obsession? I got into a pie-baking spree a few years ago, so I can bake a mean pie.

<div>this made me laugh out loud because I was forced into golf lessons by my dad and I was a moody teen throughout. I pictured a bunch of unthrilled kids, how old were your students?</div>

  • Mmm pizza. T is begging me for pizza but I don't think we should spend the money.

Reddy- I've always been into baking. Until about 8 months ago I'd bake something new every weekend. I find it so relaxing and fun. Pie is not something I've every really done, except pumpkin (t's favorite). I just don't really care for pie.
  • They were SO CUTE!! They're ages 4-15. And it's a big group thing through the LPGA. I'm by no means really qualified to give "lessons" I think the pro just wants me there for entertainment purposes, but it was SO FUN. I loved every second. I'm excited for the whole program.

  • How can you not like pie??  That's nuts.

We took another drive today and then I've been reading.  I love my kindle, but it makes it a bit too easy to buy books!

Aaand if finally just went dark here.  At 10:45pm.Surprised
  • fische- so the 13-15 year olds really are interested? I'm impressed.

amoro- How much do the books run for that thing? Or should I ask?

  • I'm at my mom's.  (In town for a wedding yesterday.)  My dad and stepmother are coming later and we're all going to dinner together... yeaaaahhhhhh.

BTW, I officially hate ceremonies with insufficient seating.  Especially ones that are outdoors on uneven ground when I'm wearing heels.

  • Amoro- I don't know, I have to be in the right mood for pie. I think its mostly fruit pies I don't care for. Snickers, peanut butter, french silk pies are always welcome.

Now you know what it was like for me growing up in Alaska. It's light forever and it's awesome.
  • Quote, that is lame. There should always be seating.

Putting a new roof on the house today. It has been a nightmare.

<div>YES, I recently went to a ceremony with only 50 chairs for about 100-125 people... I have a broken foot and a cast, but I'm not that close with the couple, SO akward having the close family move for me to have a seat. I was almost going to try and stand too.</div>

They actually run the gambit.  Some are $6ish and some are more.  It depends on what it is and what the publisher has set the price at.  They make sure to put it at a point where they aren't slicing out too much of their actual book business but attractive enough for people to want to buy the digitized ones.  I'm lucky that I have a US amazon account and a US credit card otherwise I'd have to pay international delivery fees and the VAT.

I've had to start wearing an eyemask because our balckout blinds let a lot of light in around the sides, and since that comes up around 5-ish...
  • amoro- does it give you eye strain? That'd be about the only thing holding me back from buying one I spend so much on used books. I also wouldn't find people's old bookmarks/receipts/photos :( ...

  • Hi everyone!  We got home from our HM this morning, so we're spending the evening doing laundry and getting our lives back in order.  I'm making homemade pizza dough for dinner in the bread machine.  Yum.

No eye strain at all, and I'm on my 3rd book in as many days.

EDIT: HI BRIE! How was the hm?
  • yay Brie! Congrats! How was the honeymoon?

  • Brie! How was it? What were your ports?
  • HM was great!  We had ports in Progreso and Cozumel.  We didn't debark in Progreso, but Cozumel was fabulous.  We snorkeled and it was beautiful!  We also spent time in New Orleans when we got back, which was super fun, and I ate the most incredible meal of my entire life.

We both decided we'd cruise again, but not with Carnival.  You get what you pay for.  But we had a great time just relaxing the whole time.

Brie- thats how I feel about carnival. I've found Royal caribbean to be far superior.
I'm glad you had a good time though! and yes, do tell about this meal, where was it at?

  • Croque Madame and the most amazing fries ever at John Besh's Luke in New Orleans.  It was to die for.  I have had some pretty awesome meals in my day, but this stupid sandwich was the best thing ever.

We ate at Emeril's NOLA, too, but I was underwhelmed, though DH loved his dinner.

  • Heh, and also, we got a wedding invitation returned to us in the mail today.  We've been married 3 weeks, sent the invites at 10 weeks out...so...it took them 13 weeks to get it back to us.  Awesome.

    Thats ridiculous about the nivite.
  • I am here bored waiting for FI who is paintballing.  Brie your HM sounds fabulous.  I also prefer Royal carribean to carnival.  I actually met my FI on a cruise.

  • Yeah we met on a RC cruise that I was on with my family.  He was with a family friend who I actually went to High School with.  Everyone thinks it is really romantic that we met on a cruise but most of the time I forget.  His mother's family lives 2 minutes from where I grew up so it worked out well.
