Re: Ceremony Saunter

• Nice. They seem to be doing better, but I'm giving them some space for a bit. I did a ton of googling, and a lot of the advice I found was to let them explore their safe space on their own. I think we threw too much at them last night and they got nervous.

[QUOTE]Thanks, Sep72fendr. Now I am obsessively youtubing videos. I'm a Beethoven fan as well. I love Ode to Joy too. Geez, now I have too many songs. I'm realizing that my fave part of Canon in D is about 2 minutes in. I'm wondering if I can have my friend shorten it somehow so I can walk in to that part? I know she dabbles in music composition so she may be able to do something like that. And of course I have tears in my eyes. Maybe I should choose something not too emotional. I don't want to be a blubbering fool before the ceremoney even starts!

I'm considering using Canon in D for both me and the BP... and seeing if we can "time" is so that I walk in at that point. I'm meeting with the music coordinator next week and will ask her if we can make that work.
• I semi-joked with my FI about walking down the aisle to "Bittersweet Symphony" by The Verve, because I love the intro. But, I don't think the lyrics are appropriate for a wedding :)
• We're doing a 50"s/rockabilly theme wedding so the Wp is walking downt he aisle to Mr. Sandman (Bring me a dream) byt he Chordettes, and I am walking down the aisle with my dad to My Girl. We are still stuck on what will exit to. The prelude and wedding party stuff will all be computer/ipod and then the band kicks in for My Girl and I want them to play the exit song as well. I am torn between, don't laugh, Great Balls of Fire or LaBamba because they are fun, upbeat and on theme or Van Halen's You Really Got Me played by the rockabilly band. So while the song isn't technically within the time period the style the band plays it in is.

I updated my bio on 06/24/10, however if you want to see my planning bio you have to go to www.lizardlipsplanningbio.weebly.com because I am having a hard time making it clicky!
• The WP is walking to "Chase This Light" by Jimmy Eat World and I'm walking to "Pretty Voice" by Cloud Cult. Both are being performed live by two of my friends :)
• I wanted Canon in D but my FI hates that song. So we went with Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring.

[QUOTE]my BMs walked down to Trumpet Voluntary. it had no special meaning to me whatsoever... my coordinator and I picked it out from a list of random wedding music a week earlier. I walked down to Canon in D, but it was a Rockapella remix. it was all voice, no instrumental. it was very cool.

I may steal this. I've alwyas imagined walking to Canon in D, but I've never considered an a cappella version. I sang a cappella in college, so that might be really cool! I'm listening to it now!

Haha, I love that song too. Instrumental version would be nice as others said. I think the instrumental version is actually on the Cruel Intentions soundtrack too (what? no shame in my game!).

• my H did the remixing of our music. my fave part of Canon in D is the part 2 minutes in as well, so he actually cut out a huge portion of it at the beginning, and spliced the sections together so it sounded normal and not cut. it's definitely doable with the right software and some patience.

Sing2Phins, I have the remixed version that my H made on my computer, if you want me to email it to you. PM me if you're interested.

Poster with 50's theme: that Rocks! maybe the recessional could be Johnny B Goode? Or That will be the Day? La Bamba is fun, too!
