Tuesday Night

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Tuesday Night : WOW. That is just...wow.  Again, some people shouldn't be allowed to procreate. My BFFs sister was 19 and was TRYING to get pregnant. She succeeded and it's been a disaster ever since. She and the father were both on drugs and both are still on drugs, though they're not together anymore. It's definitely far from  the Cleaver family.

<div>You know, last night I had a dream that my 17 year old sister decided to marry her BF. It was a complete clusterfluck. I managed to convince her not to do it at the last minute, and I woke up feeling so concerned. </div>
  • I actually don't really mind not being able to sleep with FI. I guess that's weird... even when our parents are away, we still don't take advantage of it. We don't sleep well in my double bed and I don't like to sleep at his house. He has twin beds so it's kind of pointless anyway. At the shore, we have twin beds, but I just like having him here because I'm used to it... although, last time we were here, he couldn't sleep and he was tossing and turning and kept getting up. He kept me awake all night, it was awful. So maybe it's okay that he's at home, haha.

Knitting requires two needles and you can do fancier work in some ways. You can also drop stitches and cause runs. You can't do as fine of work like lace knitting.

Crocheting uses one needle. You can use thread and make lace (my usual speed - I love detail work - google Filet Crochet), doileys were crocheted, or you can use chunky yarn and a huge needle and make an afghan. There's different stitches and lots you can do, but it's simpler to do.

Tatting is knots and such with a shuttle to make lace.

Once upon a time I did lots of hand crafts. I also hand quilt, do white work, cut work, all kinds of embroidery. It's been a while, though.

  • H sleep talks, and I wake very easily to people talking. Not fun. The other night he kept saying "Hey. The baskets are the on the shelf. I packed them. There's money in there so don't forget the baskets. Okay?" and I stupidly thought he was talking about something real and said "What baskets? What money? What are you talking about?"  to which he responded, "Oh my God. The BASKETS. Just look on the shelf." And then I realized he was totally asleep. It's so weird.

  • Huh, interesting. Thanks guys. Once I feel I've "mastered" knitting I'll probably try to learn to crochet.

I've done things such as embroidery - although I've never quilted. That's probably on my list there. I'd love to learn how to sew. Making my own clothes would be so great. There are so many cute styles out there that I can't really wear. Anything that has something that's supposed to run just under your bust is hard for me to fit into. Having huge breasts is such a burden sometimes *cry*

One day H, who rarely talks in his sleep said some full-blown sentence, and I was just getting into bed, so I though I had woken him and that he was actually telling me something. I responded, and when he didn't respond, I was like, "Travis, you fell asleep after you talked to me"

Then I realized he was talking in his sleep and went to bed.

Lately, I seem to moan (in a non-dirty way) in my sleep. I've woken myself up a few times, and every time I'm like, WTF?!

    Goodnight lovelies!

I'm a moderate sewer. I had to learn for my degree. I don't love it, but I don't entirely hate it. But I wouldn't want to make my own clothes.

IMO, you have to really enjoy sewing to be able to make your own clothes. Otherwise, the minute you screw up, (and believe me, you do, over and over) you just want to yell F*** IT!! and throw it away.

    Well, that's me at least.
  • Leisel, FI talks in his sleep sometimes too. The other night after my friend's wedding, he got out of bed and kept saying "Where's the root? I can't find the root?" He thinks he might have some sort of sleep disorder since he'll often get out of bed and do things and not remember. He seems to be awake but then has no recollection of it in the morning.

I can be crafty when I want to exert the energy to be crafty.

I am, however, really good at making ad-type things on Photoshop. I started doing it for my church when I could no longer handle the scary and outdated Powerpoint slides that were full of default MS word art.
  • My attempt at STDs looked like 3rd grade art projects. John took over. Maybe I planned that.

We have a really neat yarn store up here, but I haven't been in a while.

I sleep talk and sometimes I sleep walk. I do both less as I've gotten older, but I still have to warn people when I stay over.

Theatre Design. You have to learn to sew for costuming.

I learned that when DH was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea.

  • Angel, I'd be really freaked out if H got out of bed and did things. So far it's just talking.

Poke, that conversation reminds me of old fashioned schtick, haha. I used to stay up much later than H when we were long distance so we've had some weird half asleep conversations as well.
  • That makes sense Jess.

I actually learned a little how to sew in my HS home ec class. I made a purse with this super bright tie dye fabric that my friends affectionately dubbed the "death by color" purse. Then we made PJ pants - but mine turned out awful because we could only afford the super cheap walmart fabric. They were SO uncomfortable.

Yes! That's what he self diagnosed himself with via google, haha. He also sometimes acts out his dreams. He used to be big into weight lifting and he'd dream he was doing some sort of exercise with lifting a weight over his head and he'd end up punching himself in the face somehow.

I don't feel like sewing is hard, but it just requires a lot of patience. I am fairly patient, but I'm also a slight perfectionist, so when it isn't going perfectly, I'm ready to ditch the whole thing.

<div>My dad was diagnosed with sleep apnea but we really don't believe it. He had to get tested because he's a trucker - and his company required it. Because he was diagnosed he had to purchase the machine to sleep wtih which cost like $1200. Of course, because he didn't have that he had to finance it which will end up costing him about $3000 all told. We honestly think it's a total scam - and they diagnose people that could POSSIBLY have it. </div>
