  • I'm pretty terrified about not having insurance for a bit when we move - my meds are $50 per month WITH insurance. I'm skurred. But my meds keep me a functioning member of society. So....

I get where you're coming from Snippy. I'd always suggest counseling/therapy to go along with meds.

    How long is a bit?

I know it's not ideal, but do you know how much the COBRA would be?

Maybe there's snother individual coverage provider you could look into? My brothers are on private insurance and it's pretty decent for about $150/month.

The group was made secret though and the rule became to not talk about the FB group as to not hurt the feelers of those who aren't in it.  I think that's why the June 12 board has become so lame because most of us who aren't crazy just post in the group instead.

  • June 12 girls - there's a facebook group. If you weren't invited, you aren't cool. Sorry, y'all.

I really wish I was cool enough for an offboard. Maybe one day. Someone make one and invite me and then I can talk about how cool I am that I'm involved in an offboard. (this isn't towards you Chelsea...you aren't saying you're cool - eff, why am I adding a disclaimer? you know I love you)

Which is absolutely true. I didn't disagree with the ultimate point, I disagreed with the assumption half the poster's made that led to the posting flurry that insinuated she didn't know what she was getting into. (and I concede that many people don't know what they are getting into)

I think Sesh's cat is really expensive with all the meds he needs. I have a feeling that is where a lot of their income is going.

I have a feeling sesh's comment this morning was a bit tongue in cheek, not that she is literally starving. She puts money into events she attends, her books and her cats meds. She survives and is a big girl making big girl decisions so why would we berate her over it?
  • I don't think anyone's berating her. When you bring up your money situation, people will have opinions on it. If you don't want people's opinions on your money situation, keep it to yourself. Just like anything else.

[QUOTE]Nebb, I was trying to go back and look but got distracted, but she referenced it a couple of different times.  It stuck out to me, which is why I remember it so clearly.  She said, specifically, that she doesn't eat full meals because they can't afford it, and that she can't afford to feed herself.  I'm pretty sure she brought it up in the thread you guys had about things you skimp on and things you splurge on, and she said that they can't afford food.

[QUOTE]The June 2012 "secret" offboard has now been brought up in consecutive FFF and an AYG in between.  I feel like it's a little of a we-get-it. There's an offboard. Feelings were hurt.  Drama ensued.

  • God I have been searching for the post I was talking about for like ten minutes. It was this week sometime, maybe in a morning thread? I'll keep looking.

I feel like the one I was talking about was something along the lines of "I have been trying to skip meals to cut down on food costs so I don't want to participate in the potluck" or something like that. It didn't seem very tongue-in-cheek. I don't think anyone is berating her, but if she is going to talk about how she skips meals to save money, people are going to talk. Like nuggs said, she may have to slow down with the writing or the book stuff if she cannot afford it. Or get food stamps.
