Evening Thread?

It's almost 8 on the east coast.  Surprised one has not started.

Then again maybe I'm the only lame one home on a Saturday.   I sent DH out with a friend who's wife is OOT.   They invited me, but I'm just not in the mood to go to Penthouse ,Hustler.
or the casino.

What is everyone else up to?

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

Re: Evening Thread?

  • I'm in a boat in the middle of the lake. J and my brother are fishing for Muslims. I'm terrified that they will actually catch something.

  • Omg I meant Muskies. Damn autocorrect.
    image
  • MuSu I laughed out loud! Autocorrect is freaking hilarious.
  • I laughed out loud too and told the guys. I'm sooo afraid of fish that I am nervous.

  • Musu I was like Wtf do they do up in Minnesota. I'm just watching tv trying to convince myself I'm not hungry. I think I'm going to try to go to bed soon. I woke up with a sore throat and it's bothering me.

  • Lol there isnt any ocean around here but I dont think that Muslims frequent under water in lakes either haha.

  • You get service in the middle of the lake? That's pretty impressive, haha. I'm supposed to be heading over FI's in a few, but I'm too lazy to get dressed.

  • That is the best auto correct ever.

Dh is bugging me to go out.  I might have to bail.

  • I too was wondering what kind of Muslims were being caught from a lake in MN.  That is a pretty good autocorrect :).  My dad muskie fishes occasionally.

Hi!  H and I just spent 3 hours wandering semi-aimlessly around Babies R Us.  I think I am out of my league here :).

Evening, H and I went shopping today. I officially found a home office layout, a bedroom tv stand/tvstand, and a shotgun I want.  All we bought was a lawn mower, fun.

  • hi!  i'm waiting for H to get home.  He's out for his Saturday-after-work-drink-with-the-boys.  I think we're going to make pizza.  I am obsessed with pizza lately.  We'll do a homemade one though - pesto, fresh mozzarella and sun dried tomatoes.  yum.

  • Lynda - the stuff you listed that was on their agenda does not sound like much fun to me.  Except maybe the casino.  If it's smoke free.  Cigarette smoke gives me a headache, and I often lose my voice.
  • loops - I have already told my friend if and when I need to register I'm bringing her along and handing over the gun.

  • I don't know what we're doing for dinner.  Mexican was mentioned, but it's still over 100 degrees here and neither one of us was all that gung ho about the Mexican idea, so we'll see.

Loopy- Baby shopping is the best, I'm sure registering for baby is 100 times as fun.

Yeah, I mean they might not  hit everything in that order or even all of them tonight. But they hit most of those places when they go out together.  I think Dh is mad at me.  I've been more of a homebody since moving here.    I just rather stay at home.

I honestly do not mind he is out.    I use to get a day or more off without him.  My new job does not allow that.   I actually like having the place to myself once in a while.

I do need to figure out what to have for dinner though.

  • KJB - I just texted a friend of mine and asked when she is going to visit as she needs to help me register.
  • Heb - TOO MANY CHOICES!  Registering for baby is HARD.
  • My SIL said she went into the stroller section and immediately turned around and walked out.  She was overwhelmed.
I'm getting a City Mini when the time comes.  I've test driven those :)

I honestly have way too much fun shopping for baby showers.

  • H was completely clueless as well.  He did pretty well at not losing his shiiit on me though.  He hates it when I drag him to do stuff like this and I'm not prepared.  He wanted me to be like "scan this one because x, y, z.  Scan that one because a, b, c..".  I was hoping there'd be people around who could maybe educate us about this stuff a little, but there really wasn't.
  • Shopping for baby showers when someone else has made the choices, or if you're just looking for cute outfits, is fun.  Doing the picking is hard.  And really, for most of the stuff, I don't know how much difference it makes.
  • What's for dinner?  I'm hungry but not for anything in particular.  Looking for inspiration.
  • I think I'm probably just going to go heat up some chicken nuggets from the freezer. I really can't spend any money for dinner and there's nothing else to make.

  • I had a salad and cheezits. Nothing exciting. I went with my friend to pick up a few things from the baby store one time. I was so confused about what things were or why they were needed. There was so much stuff.

Loopy understandable. I think since i've been to 5+ baby showers in the past few months I feel like a pro.

Yesterday I made chicken, onions, green and yellow peppers on the grill and put it  over rice. Today just pasta and jar sauce..

I think that I'm going to have ice cream for dinner again.  But I'm all out so I'm going to have to call out for it
  • We are going here:  http://whitechocolategrill.com/dinnerMenu.php  H decided and it looks delish.
  • Evening!

I had a burrito for dinner. I'm babysitting S tonight. She is pretty difficult to get to sleep so we're watching Veggie Tales.
