Evening Thread?

Re: Evening Thread?

  • What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

[QUOTE]You had me until you added the mayo. Yuck! Why would you want that with turkey??

  • Hello all. Just got back from dropping off H at the airport. And I have chinese food for dinner.
  • I'm having issues uploading pics.  But you can do a goggle search of Capriotti's bobbie images.

My family always had turkey sandwiches like that growing up. Long before Capriott's became 'famous'.    Maybe it's a Delaware thing?   Capriotti's just allowed us to have it more than just holiday time.

  • Hey, hope everyone is having a good night! I just got out of the shower. Waiting on a movie on Lifetime to come on at 10. I think Dakota and I are finally bonding, that makes me happy. She follows me everywhere and sleeps on the rug in front of the shower while i'm taking a bath, so yay finally!

[QUOTE]Lynda, are those croutons on there?  It looks like the non-Pittsburgh version of Primanti's.  They put french fries on the sandwiches.

    That's the bread stuffing.

  • Yeah... scratch the "smart casual".  We ordered pizza LOL.  H will go pick it up in a bit :).  Denver is pretty casual in general.. but I'd probably err on the side of dressy, but I don't feel like putting that much effort in tonight.  I'm tired.

  • I can anything delivered.

well, anything I can think of
  • I usually get the fries on the side and them add them to the sandwich because they almost always put more on than I can fit in my mouth.
  • Retail therapy almost always helps.

  • Edie - I'm moving to England as soon as I have all the paperwork in order. So I have no idea.

Mari - I would, but I'm broke lol.
  • I am not a fan of sandwiches with fries in them.  They have them in Cleveland, usually called Panini's" and I prefer my sandwich and fries served separately.

  • Good evening! FI and I ordered some papa johns. Hopefully it gets here soon.  I had intentions of making spaghetti but we just did a pretty deep clean of the apartment and I don't want to have to re-clean the kitchen.

OOT- do you live in the City?  I wish I could have ice cream delivered!

  • I do not like fries on sandwiches either.    While I love mashed potatoes, I hate mushy fries. Fries on sandwiches are always mushy.   I'm so bad I have to put even ketchup on the side so I can dip.

Glad I'm not the only one!  I also love fries on my salad.
  • so since i read an article today about American Airlines being in trouble or something, I decided I need to use up my miles before they disappear.  I'm trying to convince H we need to go to Hawaii.
And there was just a commercial for farmersonly.com.  I really thought it was a joke at first.  It's a dating site for farmers I guess.

  • I don't think I could do fries in a sandwich.

Although I would eat 100 french fry sandwiches before I ate bacon on my ice cream.
  • damn, i didn't realize how many pittsburghites there are aroound here.

  • H sent me a link for a maple bacon cupcake that he thought sounded awesome and I thought sounded pretty gross.

<div>I am not weird about soggy fries as much as I am about soggy bread.  If I get a hamburger and the bottom bun gets wet and soggy, I will eat the burger with a fork and knife instead of with the bun. </div>
