We have four. Two are ridable, one is retired, and one would be ridable if he were on district schedule. When the retired one passes I want to find a dead broke draft that anyone can ride.

[QUOTE]Hello, I only have about an hour left at work.  And I got my schedule for the upcoming school year and except for a single class on Fridays, I now get 3-day weekend!  Well, I will in 2 weeks. Adamar, I'm sorry to hear about your mare.  At least she let you treat it. Hockey, I was just looking at Christmas presents today too.  I got both the birthday and christmas present for one of my friends picked out and ordered already. She's getting a china tea cup and saucer and <strong>Doctor Who</strong> stitch markers.  ETA: <strong>I also got another friend a River Song journal.  Yeah, I'm a geek like that.</strong>

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Hello? : I handpaint wooden "time out" chairs.  This is what they look like before I start.  I have made one for my niece when she was born that was painted with a Where the Wild Things Are theme...and one of my nephews got one that looked like a Boston Bruins jersey.  The nephew I am working on now will get a construction/truck theme chair.

Hockey, that sounds really sweet and cute.

  • Good to know I'm not the only one thinking about Christmas already. I've been making a wishlist of stuff I want for a few days now.

  • Hockey, that's a really cute idea! I'm not crafty at all for big things or anything practical. Cute paper, I can do.

[QUOTE]rsanna, you are among friends here.  We have a few DW nerds around. :)

So it seems.  I knew Lizzie and Muni but I didn't know anyone else.  I'm so excited for the new season to start.  Right now I would be more excited with an air date, though.

  • I suppose I should think of things to tell people eventually for my bday and Xmas this year if they ask. Last year I didn't want anything because I was having my wedding so soon after the holidays. I suppose I could say that people could still purchase things off of our registry? Haha.
    image
  • Haha yes you do, loopy! Fruit loop is pretty good motivation.
    image
  • Ya...I was sort of jaded after I made the first one.  It was a lot of work and tons of details.  One of my brother's friends liked it and asked me how much to make one for their kid.  I quoted them about $100-$125 and my brother and his friends flipped saying I was being ridiculous.  So ya.
  • Hockey, $100 doesn't seem unreasonable at all for a handpainted chair. That would take forever to do. And that's not even factoring in all the supplies.
  • I have to find out if we're exchanging gifts with H's family or not.  Last year we all chipped in and adopted a family rather than exchange with each other, but I'm not sure if we'll do that again or not this year and it's too early to be obnoxious and ask about it.  I'm going to try to get it figured out in September when we are there though.
  • I'm out, time for work. Talk to everyone later!

  • People will be getting homemade stuff from me this year since I'll be unemployed as of Friday afternoon.

  • So random question... Matt Lauer made a quick joke calling his cohost an "Indian giver" on the air yesterday. It was sort of an aside and not part of a planned script or anything. people are FREAKING out over it. I get that it's offensive but FFS it's not like he needs to be strung up by his balls an hanged.

  • My favorite gift that I gave last year was Adamars necklace for SS!

Hockey, I agree.  $100 for a handpainted chair isn't ridiculous at all. Especially with the kind of detail that you put into it.

    I'm finally home.
H is making beef Wellington for dinner. I'm kind of excited.

ETA: I haven't even thought about Christmas yet. Now I feel drastically under-achieved.

  • I did a lot of homemade stuff last year. My favorite was the blanket I made for my brother. One side was wool with a plaid pattern and the other side was black felt, and I weaved the edges together. I might make myself one this winter because that blanket was the shiz.
  • I am sure we will do SS again. Most everyone enjoys it!

</div><div>Home made stuff is nice, though! </div><div>
</div><div> I'm trying to get a nice herb garden going (I'm having decent success with some things but not others) so that I can give dried herbs (organically grown) and I also want to pickle/preserve/can other things from my garden as a suppliment to the presents we send.  I'd really like to get to the point where I can give a variety of things from my garden as gifts, but my garden isn't big enough for that yet.</div><div>
</div><div>We do a gift for each adult/couple....last year it was a set of beautiful silver picture frames in various sizes that were magnitized to hang on the refirgerator doors.  HUGE hit!</div><div>
</div><div>I have no clue what we're doing this year...I need to start looking, but I will be adding home made pickles, dried herbs (sweet basil, oregano, italian parsley, rosemary and thyme and hopefully mint) , sun dried tomatoes, roasted red peppers and hopefully pickled cauliflour.

  • Evening Ladies, I just got home from taking my dog to the vet. I came home to H and my wonderful neighbor cleaning out the woods behind our house. Exciting! I can't wait to have an actual yard instead of a jungle!

</div><div>9 was so angsty...and goofy in a nerdy sort of way. I liked 9.  Then again I like gangly nerdy guys.  FI isn't very gangly, but he's taller than me, he randomly kisses my hand and he has Shakespeare's Tragedys in KLINGON. He's awesome.</div>
  • I do not want to think about Christmas yet. The thought of figuring out what to get every one will stress me out, haha.
