Buyer's remorse?

2»

Re: Buyer's remorse?

  • Our caterer had very few reviews online, did not do a tasting, and come to think of it, didn't have a contract. BUT, our food was the best wedding food I've ever had, and a lot of people have said that. I did contact several people from his list of references though- if you can do that, then I wouldn't be as worried about the tasting part.

But the number thing is super weird. I HOPE she isn't buying any of the food 6 weeks out!

If you have a bad feeling, walk away, but I just wanted to point out that sometimes all those things can happen and you can have fantastic food.
  • Since you didn't sign a contract, I'd try to get that 200 back. If it was credit, give em a  call and have them take it back.

We didn't do a food tasting, but our caterer is a reputable restaurant that we've eaten at, so I'm not worried.

I am late to this, but that is way too fishy to me.  What difference should that make?  I agree with PPs - start looking immediately for a new one.

Think of it like this - you would not let a baker/bakery make you a cake without tasting/viewing their work beforehand, would you?  Same with the caterer.

I am thinking since you do not have a "contract' with her, you might be able to get your money back, but it sounds like she would make a stink about it.
