Re: Lake Valhalla Club, Montville

  • @shannyb41 Do you remember what percentage you ended up tipping?  I know Perry said that 10% is usual, but since he is gone, I'm wondering if I should go by the same guidelines.  Also, do you remember what your guaranteed guest number was? I'm a little nervous we won't be able to meet ours, so I'm curious if the LVC will work with us on adding on/including items to meet the amount that we are guaranteed to pay.

    Thank you! =)
  • @kryan816 We were told to guarantee 150. If we wind up being below 150 they would count our vendors as guests to help with the cost.
  • @ktcardio @kryan816 - We just had our wedding at LV on May 4th. Everything was SUPERB. Service, food, drinks, everything. You have nothing to worry about. Prior comments must have been referring to a different Lisa. I loved her. She was very helpful and sweet - and answered all my crazy and probably annoying questions! We had 125 people attend and it was perfect. We used 11 tables (they removed 1) which allowed for our sweetheart table to not be right in the center but more to the side which we liked. We paid a little bit less than what I'm seeing people post here but we booked in February 2013 so I'm sure prices have changed since then. We didn't do the 10% maitre'd tip. We felt that was too much with what we already paid per person incl tax and tip. We did tip an extra $500 and I wrote on the note that it was for Lisa, Claudio and staff (however they wanted to distribute it). Hope this helps!

    @rayac1221 Thanks for your post!!
  • @rayac1221 Thank you so much! We have our tasting next week, so I'm excited to finally meet her in person! And thanks for the info re: the tip.. I thought 10% was a bit high, too. Can I ask what you had as your entrees?
  • Sorry this is so late, I haven't been on much since our wedding is over!  We had a choice of vegetable risotto cake, filet mignon, chicken valhalla, and horseradish crusted salmon.
  • Hi fellow LVC brides!

    Has anyone had their ceremony at LVC and then went off-site for pictures after? If so, where did you go?

    Thanks!! :)
