Unpopular Opinions

I have no desire to see The Hangover III. I also never found The 40-Year-Old Virgin all that hilarious.

I hate the song Thrift Shop with a burning, firey passion.

@AddieL73 I agree. I fell asleep during the 2nd Hangover in theatres. Yes it just so happened that we snuck in a ton of wine juiceboxes and peppermint schnapps and it might have been due to passing out, but I was asleep nonetheless.

@Weezy56 AHH flipping HATE that song! The first time I ever heard it I immediately made a note to put on the do not play list.

Everyone thinks I'm weird but I hate popcorn. The smell....ugh.

  • I liked Thrift Shop until I looked up the lyrics and was like, yeah, that's just dumb.

I have never heard this song.  I shall not go search it out. (Yes, I live in a cave- under a rock)

Linger, you are wise. I swear every time it comes on the radio at work, somebody sings it for karaoke at the bar, etc everyone gets all hype and I just sit there with a frown on my face like a negative nancy.

Isn't that the song that has the line "Imma take you grandpa style?"  If so, then I must agree with your opinion of it.  I like the beat, but the lyrics are dumb as heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeell.

My unpopular op:  I hate swimming pools.  I share the same weight density as lead, and float just as well.  I also seriously dislike swimming in human waste and/or being oggled by pervy fat old men.

I'm with you on Hangover III. I loved the first one, thought the second one was dumb, so it's taken away any desire to see the third one
  • Rel, I agree. I refuse to read BDSM for soccer moms. Pele, yes, that's the song.;

    YES!!!!!!!!!!  I cant
stand books with weak-willed and weak-minded female lead characters.  The fact that this was badly written Twilight fanfic just compounded the problem a thousandfold.

I've always wondered how many times the phrase "oh crap" was written in that book. Or referencing his bottom lip. Or how many times the word "murmured" was used. So repetitive!
  • I lean toward agreeing with you on the second ammendment, Manager of Stages.

  • Ditto hating today's music.  My degree is in music, and a lot of my focus was in classical singing and composing.  Current music is just....I can't even.....gah.

My favorite unpop opinion to throw out there-I friggin love crocs.  I have a dozen pairs, no joke.  But I wear them a lot less than I used to.  They're so comfortable though.  I'd also like to add that not all of my pairs are the standard "duckfeet" looking ones.  Some styles I have are pretty cute :)

People don't understand why I don't like the Beatles.  Then they try and convince me that I'm "wrong".  I get why they were such a big deal, but I still don't care for most of their songs.

I read through the first one because I hate to flat out give up on books. I finished the second because everyone kept telling me it was so much better. At this point I figured I might as well read the third book because everyone said it "explained everything" and I was anticipating this Alleluia moment. I finished the third book and asked all my friends if they could give me those hours back of my life that I just wasted. Complete trash. If that's considering good writing hell I'm going to write a shitty book and make some money.

I work at a University and there is a popcorn machine in my building. We pop popcorn every Wednesday for students and I want to vomit. The smell is like chemicals, cat pee and burned hair all together. I hate it so much.

I did the same.  I felt used by the end.
  • I think romper suits for adult women are creepy and weird.
Totally agree, but I usually hate most "trending" fashion.  So much out there now has no shape.  I've got curves and I want to show them off damn it!!

I think polygamy should be legal. It's not my bag, but so long as everyone involved is a consenting adult I don't think we should legislate against it.

I don't think parents should have a choice whether or not to vaccinate their kids. Once you are 18 you can take whatever risks you want with your body (even if those risks indirectly endanger others) but I don't think religious or pseudo-science beliefs entitle someone to make dangerous choices for a child.
Agree on all of the above.

There are other reasons against vaccination besides what you mentioned.

I also have no issue with these drone strikes that Obama has admitted. Now I lean far more right then Obama however I do not have an issue in taking out known terrorists, US citizens or not. I know a lot of people are up in arms of this but I am not. I would rather take them out now, then wait until they plan an succeed some sort of attack. I also wish that all public school kids had to take a class on religion that covers the basics of all major religions and also what being atheist and agnostic means. I feel there would be a deeper level of understanding if everyone really understood what everyone else "is" and would help people choose a religion based on their own belief system not on their families.

I fully agree about religion classes. I went to a religious school, and they still taught us about other religions so we would know what was out there, and know how to respect them. I don't think it would be to put "god" in the school, but to educate people about what is clearly a large sociological and cultural influence.
  • I am sick and tired of my opinion being the unpopular one in my small hometown... and sick of realizing that so many of the people I love are bigots.

The opinion? That being gay is not sinful and we should treat LBGTQ people just like everyone else. It makes me rage when people at my church act like they're worse than criminals. JESUS LOVED CRIMINALS, GUYS!* The hypocrisy makes me want to cry almost every Sunday.

*Andplusalso, being gay is no longer a crime.
