IMHO if she is tiny but has a bigger tummy, the one she likes, the mermaid style, would only make it look bigger.

Like someone else said, the A-line looks best on figures with larger middles, and the ruching helps to hide the bump

I think that's her way of saying she doesn't want to be in your wedding, imho. At this point, just email her the options again and list the buy date for it to arrive, and drop it. She likely won't purchase it and by that will remove herself from your wedding.
