[QUOTE]anyone who hasn't seen the episode, don't read further---  Zizi -- I found the elimination of Danielle to be ridiculous.  1. She had to join her group at midnight after 2. Being hospitalized for getting kicked in the head while 3. Graciously stepping in to dance with another contestant after  4. ALREADY MAKING IT THROUGH and 5. Sexyface McGee Rachel with the tie&men's shirt got to dance for her life and Danielle didn't.  Does. Not. Compute.

</div><div>I usually think they go out of their way to make things equitable for the dancers, but that blows. </div>

  • MuSu, Now I'm mad. I can't believe they eliminated Danielle. She's so much better than Rachel. I forgot to DVR that ep and don't feel like watching it online, so thanks.

  • I think it sucks that she got cut for it because had she not been nice enough to volunteer to re-dance, she wouldn't have gotten kicked in the head and given the disadvantage. Also, they cut the krumper girl and that makes me sad because I don't think she deserved to get cut for the round they eliminated her in.

We just built a new house and now have more/different TVs. The one I am trying to watch at the moment is beyond my remote-control operating expertise. Can't we just have a freakin' SIMPLE TV??? I feel like a moron.

Anywho, I just get mad and don't watch. So yeah, I missed last week.

(edited cuz i forgot to make my point!)

  • Ah.  That's too bad. vegas week is usually annoying anyway, but this is pretty bad.

  • Yeah I think we have 3 remotes for both TVs. One for sound, one for tv functions and one for the satellite.

</div><div>I hate it. I mean, I love having a TV in our bedroom but it'd be nice if I could figure out how to change the channel on the dang thing. I was all excited because it has internet capabilties (like you can FB and netflix, blah blah blah on it) but dang if I can even just watch regular TV on the thing. </div>

My tv has three remotes, too.

My parents have a crazy sound system and entertainment system all controlled by one very awesome remote. It does everything for the TV, the DVR/cable box thing, DVD, iPod, wii, whole house sound system, VHS, radio...like it does everything. It's very cool to just have one remote for absolutely everything, but it sucks when you lose it, haha.
  • Nicki -- *HUGS* for your kitty.  I'd be pissed off too :(

  • Yeah Leisel my parents have one of those too. I think it was like $70 or $80 though, haha.

I have an MRI tomorrow. Anyone care to tell me what thats like? I've never had one before, hah.

  • Evening! Finished work at 7 then went with FI to the dog beach - the dogs loved it. Now FI is making his delicious chicken pasta & i cannot wait for it to be finished.

I still havent figured out the school stuff - I called them & left a message this morning & they never returned my call. I am going to stalk them tomorrow over phone.

I still have no idea what to get FI for his birthday.

Leisel - your photo is beautiful! I cant wait till you AW.

  • Oh this one was like $500 bucks, haha. My mom seriously guards it with her life, and with good reason, I'd say, haha.

I've had an MRI of my head. It wasn't bad at all, though I know some people really don't like it. I don't mind confined spaces, and I basically just took a little nap while they were getting the images. Some people think it's incredibly loud, and depending on the body part they can give you headphones. Obviously for my head they didnt' do that, but I really wasn't bothered by the sounds.
  • Thanks, Dileni! I'm going to wait until my photographers get some images done. My sig pic is one of the very few non pro pics that turned out decently, haha.

Holy crap that is a lot, Leisel!

I am having one for my cervical spine. How long did it take for you? Thats the thing where you get on a little bed and lay in a coffin looking thing right?
    image
  • MRIs didn't used to bother me.  I developed claustrophobia after my car accident and now I don't do so well in them.  They're not bad if you're not claustrophobic.

  • MuSu they are not bad. I have had head ones and knee ones. Both were open, and they played music for me. The cat scans where they pump that fluid in you to see your insides better, those stick; but really only because the fluid makes you think you peed yourself.

  • No fluid i don't think, haha. I'm not claustrophobic, thankfully.
    image
  • Mine took about 40 minutes, I think? It was a while ago, but I remember thinking it went by quickly.

I didn't feel like it was coffin like at all. It was a big machine and a pretty large opening. It was significantly larger than the space given in a tanning bed if that gives you a reference point.

  • Holy crap, 40 min? That is a long time to lay still.

I'm the queen of programming remotes.   When DH gets a new TV he gives it to me to setup and then program to only need one remote.

In the bedroom I still use another remote to do the sleep mode.  I can do it on the other remote, but it's easier on the one I use.  Besides, DH generally has the main remote.  Not worth trying to get it away from him.  That remote sleeps next to him.<img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-frown.gif" border="0" alt="Frown" title="Frown" />

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

</div><div>Since it was my head it really wasn't bad. They had a cradle type thing for my head to sit in so I really <em>couldn't</em> move it ya know? I wasn't uncomfortable at all. If it had been my legs or arms or something it probably would have sucked not being able to move. With them looking at your neck I'd assume they'd have your head in a cradle as well. </div>

<div>See this is part of my problem I think. Because he usually mans the remote, then I don't ever learn how. But on hot days when I have a headache, I just want to hide in here with HGTV on,  kwim? And he's not down with that. LOL</div>

  • That makes sense, Leisel. I guess I just didn't realize it took so long. Xrays are so instant that I didn't know MRIs took way more time. I'm glad I scheduled it for AFTER work then, heh.

<div>It is. I had one of my neck/head and was told not to swallow. WTF? Who can lay there and not swallow for 40 minutes??? I forgot about that part. </div>
    image
  • Oh good I'll just drool everywhere instead.
    image
  • Rach, for a second, I thought your post said, "I'm finally getting boobs" haha.

I would not be able to not swallow for 40 minutes. Swallowing is almost involuntary.

  • Are we talking MRIs? (sorry, I'm lazy and skipped to the end).  I had one on my knee when I was in junior high.  The jackhammering noise sucks.
  • It may depend on what they're looking for. Mine was for unexplained headaches so they didn't know exactly what they were trying to find. Plus, my dad is the head of radiology at the hospital this was done at, so I have a feeling they wanted to be thorough, haha. But from what I've heard they do take a pretty long time.
  • Yeah, they're long.  When I had my thoracic/lumbar MRI, it took about 30 - 45 minutes.
