True Blood (spoilers of course)

Re: True Blood (spoilers of course)

  • I get so confused with the timeframes. I was thinking it's Rene's kid but that would mean the whole Rene thing happened only 3 months before. So from season 1 to 3 only a few months have passed? Which means Bill's proposing after only 3 months? It seems like more time should have gone by.
  • NickD -
In the books Sam wasn't adopted so that storyline is different.

In the books only the first child of a parent who is a shifter ends up becoming a shifter.  (does that make sense)

It's been awhile since I've read the books (I might go and re-read them the next few weeks), but something happened to Sam, right?  If he wasn't adopted, wasn't he abandoned by his family still or something?  I know the show is different, because his dad didn't know about his mom's shifting in the books.
  • Yeah, in the show he was adopted, then abandoned by his adoptive paretns when he started shifting. I'm just not seeing how this is going to develop into the main story line. But then again I thought the same thing with Maryanne.

In the books, Sam wasn't adopted and still enjoys a relationship with his mother (who is a shifter), brother and sister.

  • I'm kinda glad they are making BIll less proper and goody goody and shiit.  That was starting to bother me.  I don't want to stop liking him though, I still have this "OMG Bill and Sookie 4 evers!!!"  thing going on in my head.  I knew they had to go somewhere with Bill and Lorena (and Sookie and Erik) though.  It was bound to happen that they would hook up and things would go awry.

Oh, I was thinking the opposite.  I was pleading in my head that she would say something right away.  It's going to make it pretty hard to tell the truth later.  And it's pretty horrible to let someone think a kid is his when it's not.

<div>Ok. I admit. That sounded way worse (and not just because of my lack of spell check.)  Really, I want it to be Terry's.  If not, though, I hope they still get to raise it together.</div><div>
</div><div>side- of course it's horrible to let someone think a child is his when it isn't... in real life.  But, um, this show is hardly reality.</div>

<div>There's something with his dad though right? Like his real dad is out of the picture... I just thought I remembered something about it being his step dad later (I don't want to say too much and spoil the books.)</div><div>
</div><div>Anyway, it's not really a big deal. It was just one of those things I couldn't remember.</div>

  • Personally, I'm more upset about the lack of weres. They are far more attractive.

There was something creepy going on with Sam's Dad and his brother when Sam came to the house to say goodbye. The Dad was in his dirty tidy white-ies sitting on the couch with Sam's brother and he had his hand on the kid's leg. Like a really creepy (sexual?) gesture. Yuck.
