Yay/WTF

YAY! I just got home and found that our visas have been extended! It's a double edged sword of happiness, but it does mean we both get to stay employed!

WTF: When I got to our apartment, the door was unlocked. Then I opened it, and there was a large quantity of dandelions (at least a dozen) just destroyes across the floor and ground into the rug. I'm pretty sure Lucy was given them, and she had herself a field day. I was PISSED. The dog walkers are totally fired.

Now you.

Re: Yay/WTF

  • So wait, they gave her dandelions to play with in the apartment by  herself?  Did they not think she would eat them or cause a mess?  And I'm assuming they're supposed to lock the door behind them?  I'd fire them too.
  • YAY! I'm getting married in 26 days!

WTF: There's a couple at church totally snubbing us because they're not invited to the wedding and I have a feeling they'll show up to both events anyway.

Snippy, I'd be so mad with the dogwalkers if they did that.
  • Apparently. I have no idea what they were thinking. I talked to their mom about it and she was horrified. And yeah, totally should be locking the door.
  • Snippy, I'll be pi$$ed at dandelions all over.  They stain!

YAY - I got to lay on the couch and watch movies all day yesterday.  I know this is probably boring for most, but it was the best Mother's Day ever.  Family day doesn't happen much around my part of the world (2 kids with 2 activities each)

WTF - I had a project meeting this morning, and one of the contributors took 90% of the time to B!tch about things we can't change.  It ended up being a total wasted meeting and made me look like a fool of a project manager.

  • Yay!  Classes are done and Wildfire is in four days!  *happy dances*

WTF.  I was just complaining about this on SB.  H has been really hitting rock bottom lately, I haven't gone into it much because that's really his business.  But anyway.  He really misses his mom, so he called her last week and asked if he could come visit her for Mothers' Day.  She declined, saying she'd rather stay home and veg out by herself.  Last night we called her to wish her a happy day, and she told us that she spent the day out with my two BILs.  H didn't say anything but I know he was hurt.  It just makes me so upset that she told him she wanted to be alone when she clearly didn't.  I really love my MIL, and I know she gets to spend the day with anyone she wants, but that just felt wrong to me.

  • Yay-Internet if finally up and running at work so I can knot from the work computer instead of my phone.

WTF- phones are still down so I don't have much to do workwise until they are up and running. So it might be kind of a boring day today.

  • Midge, are you serious? I hope they don't!!
  • My whole life is WTF worthy at this point. OK, that is dramatic, but things suck. I'm bored and lonely and the weather sucks and my hair is growing out and looks stupid everyday.

Yay, only 2.5 more weeks until I finally move.

Stacks just asked the same thing.  She doesn't know yet (as far as I know).  We haven't told anyone on that side of the family (except for H's cousin who is one of my close friends, who SAYS she hasn't told anyone, but hey, I guess she could have?).  To the best of my knowledge, they're still unaware.

Yay, our decks are finally getting done and now I don't have to worry about them rotting away.

Boo, the job is taking twice as long as they quoted and I'm sick of my plants and deck furniture taking over the entire condo.
  • Yay - It's been an easy day so far. Boo - The DJ we wanted to request from the company is already taken for our night. I would have requested earlier but they told me they didn't take requests or assign them until a few weeks before. Obviously that isn't true.

  • Huh. I didn't see that! Sorry!

I'd be surprised if it hasn't made the rounds Bay.
  • Yay - I was able to sleep through most of the night. Only got up to tinkle 3 times.

Boo - We finished my parents basement so thats where I live. It's also the only way to get the dogs into the back yard. My mom was taking them out and the boxer ran into my bedroom and jumped on my head. Owie.
  • Snippy, I'm dead serious. We're super involved at church and this has happened to other very involved people in the church with their weddings. I know you can't stop people from coming to the wedding, but coming uninvited to a reception is just absurd and current church members have done this to other couples.

I know it's against etiquette, but upon the recommendations from some church members who are guests and some rational ones who are not, we are going to make an announcement for the bulletin. It's going to say something along the lines of how we wish we could invite everyone but due to the size of our families the wedding is by invitation only. Love, us. Hopefully that will work.
  • Midge - I hope that works. How rude of those people!
  • Bay, I bet she knows. People don't tend to keep things like that a secret... She still should have been honest with him.

Yay and WTF to both of those Midge!

    Who does that.

Yay- I have a clean house, and FBIL started dating one of my friends who I adore so I am excited for both of them :D

WTF- One guy in the shop doesn't think I can do the work back here b/c I am a girl. Bleh, sexist assholes.

WTF: People who brought their screeching brats to the seafood restaurant on Friday. They let them run around the patio. Assholes.
  • That would really make me sad.  I realize that I can't help what he does and what his family does, but the last thing I wanted was for this to come between them.

  • Yay - FI helped me clean the apartment last night.

WTF - how the heck in this high-tech society does it take a whole week to get biopsy results?  And why tell me not to worry - of course I'm going to spend the entire week worrying.

Yay: Even though my alarm didn't go off, I managed to wake up right on time and make it out the door today.

WTF: I forgot my phone at home, again. It's no big deal, but it is annoying that I always forget it.
  • My in-laws are trying to get us to go to a BIL's childhood friend's wedding this summer. They keep saying we should come and can't comprehend the fact that we are not invited. My H doesn't even know this guy well because it's his half-brothers friend and they didn't grow up together. WTF.

Don't worry about it. Assuming that it's true, he made his bed and he can lie in it. Not your problem.
  • Rach, I could deal with one crasher. That's actually probably going to happen no matter what I do but there are a lotof people not invited from church. That, I could not deal with because we'd most likely run out of food and places for them to sit at the ceremony.

YAY: I have tricked FI into thinking he came up with the idea of him visiting his sister alone when we make our trip home for my sister's graduation. Now I will be able to have a day with my mom, sister and grandma to go look at some dresses.  I might even be able to have one of my bridesmaids tag along too, which would be great since we dont see each other often.

WTF: My aunt moved to a Caribbean island in December to be with her boyfriend (of maybe 6 months?) and they got engaged this weekend.  I'm happy for her, but I would be much happier if she actually told her family instead of just posting it on facebook.

ETA: My aunt's age really doesnt matter, but it is frustrating to me that she posts everything on Facebook.  She doesnt seem to be living in the real world sometimes. I mean, I shouldnt be surprised since I found out she moved there from facebook too, but come on!
