Really Early Evening Thread

Re: Really Early Evening Thread

  • We didn't get any of our fine china off of the registry and I was bummed. All we have is cheap plastic crap from target that we both accumulated during college.

  • I want the vacuum and the stand mixer I registered for.  I also want the china too, but we will probably get that later.

  • Mmmmmm..the ribs are ready.

The corn is all hot and buttery and the yeast rolls are too.

    It's dinner time!

<div>Stand mixers are cool. What kind did you register/ I have a red Kitchenaid. Her name is Marge. (Yes, I named my mixer. Don't judge.) She is wonderful and we make all kinds of good stuff together. The pasta maker is so cool!</div>

  • Quick question.

I sent a FB message to the people we hadn't heard from yet as far as RSVPs.  One of those people is online now, and she hasn't read the message I sent (It shows up as read if they have).  Would it be rude if I messaged her and asked if she and her guest are coming?

  • Ohh I love my kitchenaid mixer. I got the retro "tangerine" color. I make brownies on the regular now because of it. I may hate cooking but I love baking.

  • Oh my god guys. It's synchro diving tonight. YES!!!!

  • I'd message her Texas.

Used the ice cream maker attachment for my kitchen aid yesterday, worked a lot better than I was expecting.

  • Dammit, just as I was about to send her the message, she logged off.

  • We got all our china. We haven't used the fancy stuff yet, but hopefully soon we will...it's just so pretty!
  • Haha I love hearing the divers ask each other if they're ready. That's really cute.
  • I seriously cannot believe how hard it is for some people to send back a simple RSVP postcard. Gah. None came today but we are a long way out yet.

H and I just put back the big rug in the foyer; we'd moved it out to set up tables for the b-day bash. OMG, doing things with him sometimes makes me homicidal! We were having a hard time getting the rug pad lined up underneath and he just turns into a tool. Oh well. He's pretty cute, so I'll keep him.

<div>My deadline was Saturday, and I have to get a count to the reception venue/caterer and baker by this Friday.  I'm down to only having to contact 66 people-most of whom are in couples (which is an improvement over the 85 I thought I was gonna have to contact).  </div>

  • Haha me too, leisel. I just love synchro. I think it is so cool to watch. Ugh J just called me from Chicago and was all upset and stressed so he was snappy at me and I know it's just because he has so much going on... But I miss him and now I'm just sad and hurt.

  • Thanks tex. i need to remember that he has a lot of crap going on and while he shouldn't direct it at me, I know he didn't mean it. I'm just so down lately and lonely that it makes it worse.

That's no fun, I'm sorry. Feel better!
  • (((HUG))) MuSu.

    This diving is COOL.

  • Aww, I'm sorry Musu.

  • You would think being in a LDR for over 3 years I would just be used to it... But for some reason it's getting harder every time. Maybe it's just because my own feelings have gotten more and more sad and just "bleh" so it makes it worse.

<div>When I was dating the guy I was with before  FI, he moved to Lubbock from Austin (I was still in San Marcos at the time) for medical school.  He was always stressed, and it felt like he was taking it out on me.  Like you said, he didn't mean it, but it still sucks.</div><div>

  • I checked in on SB an saw this little gem in their evening thread

It made me chuckle, considering how frustrated I am with RSVPs right now.

  • Haha Tex, that made me chuckle.
  • Why is it so difficult to get Shutterfly to save things how I want? And can you even just download the pics you want? I'd like to put some on FB but don't want to do it with a link to Shutterfly. Is that the only way? Ugh.

  • He just called back and started apologizing because he realized he had been a total ass and I didn't do anything to deserve it. I hadn't even said anything to him so I knew it was a genuine apology. We talked for a bit so now I feel better.

  • Evening ladies!  I'm sitting here watching the Olympics.  I'm tired though and will probably make an early night of it.  I got home at 11:30 last night after a great weekend with friends.  We mostly sat around, played cards & dominoes and watched some of the Olympics.  The weather was fabulous.

Tex, that RSVP made me laugh.
  • I pinned it to my "Wedding Stuff" board.  I thought about posting it on FB, but I've done pretty good with keep WR talk off of it because there are alot of people that I'm friends with that aren't invited.

  • evening ladies, H and I just got back from the grocery store.  We always spent so much when he goes with me.
  • Musu, I'm glad to hear it! I'm sorry you've been having a rough time. I understand. It's hard not being able to see your friends and socializing as much as you'd like. I can imagine having J gone on top of that is even worse.
