I knew I remembered something about May 11 when you said that. They are crazy. Sorry. They may be supportive, but it generally seems to be in a bad way.

It's NYE, and I *might* have a single glass of bubbly. Somebody has got to make up the difference for me. Snippy lives vicariously through us for some US only things. I live vicariously through knotties - especially the night crew - for drinking.

TBO I think it was only like 3 or 4 girls on May'11 who were buttheads, the rest were really nice and fun to chat with. I got the general impression that most people were confused with what was going on but decided to play along with the "invaders" rather than be jerks.
• I promise to start drinking as soon as I get home.

No, I'm on at night a lot because H sometimes works late or even overnight. But I have normal hours.
• Maybe drinking will make me feel better.

• It's such a pretty bottle, I wanted it for pictures! But practiciality won out. The Lamb. isn't the same we normally get. It seems a 'fancy' version. The were out of the normal kind.

I'm still here! He's better now. I kept telling him he was being a bitchass and he needed to stop it because it was NYE. :D And then I crammed some cheese in his mouth and he was happier.
• You're only up to 60? I expected better by now, ladies.
• Oh, KJB, drinking kills everything. ;) You should definitely drink.

We just found the Swedish NYE celebration and seriously it's so... maudlin. I have no idea what they're saying but it's really.... sad sounding. Plus? They're standing outside in a blizzard. Sucks to be them!

MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLL!! ARE YOU MARRIED?! CONGRATS!! EEE
• One of my dear friends is Swedish, and NYE with her usually involved heavy drinking until the sun rose. That wasn't so bad, as long as we were indoors. I can't imagine why anyone'd be outside in the snow for long.

I'm glad that your H is feeling better. Cheese and wine cure most things, I think.

• Ladies, I like wine of all varieties (ESPECIALLY RIESLING. MMMMM.), lambic beer, hard cider, margaritas, vodka gimlets, and a whole host of other mixed drinks. Ordinary beer doesn't do a thing for me, so as long as you avoid that, you'll be taking one for the team. :D

Baby squirrel appreciates your help too. He just kicked the crap outta me to tell me so. Tongue out

However.

This is your wedding day, so if you'd rather celebrate with your husband! than your keyboard, I *think* we'll allow it.

I can see where you're coming from on this, completely. I think many girls hold back on their responses because the gals that post there aren't really looking for a frankly honest response, just reinforcement or gently guidance.

I have to say that I got emails from 90% of the girls involved and they said after the fact that they were wrong in what they said/how they said it. There are still afew girls who think TK is just like IRL and haven't gotten over it. One girl was banned for repeatedly calling me a b*tch and the rest of what she posted.

[QUOTE]Missie, they're a different kind of supportive than what this crowd looks for. They're obviously defensive of each other, so they'd be good in an actual fight as a group, but they were maybe too quick to draw weapons. And too slow to listen. There were a couple that tried to reason with the confused crew, but they got run over too. I don't think they're bad girls. A couple were downright mean, and they should be thankful they didn't make those comments on E. Aside from that, though, they just seemed really confused and too angry.

Totally agree. But that being said, some of those girls do actually kick ass.

• Guys. Seriously. This is the weirdest NYE ever. So, everyone on this Swedish show is wearing big fur coats (because it's snowing onto the stage) and the host is seriously wearing a cream colored, fishtail skirt, with heavy duty white boots and a white fur coat with a hood. Hilarious.

This whole thing is so... anti-climatic.
