I took H to see Girl with the Dragon Tattoo yesterday and I don't think I fully explained it enough so he had no idea it was going to be so dark and depressing. He was so upset about the rape scene too I feel like a bad wife for subjecting him to it. I liked the movie though.
I feel like a cold is brewing on my horizon. I guess I could pick up medicine on my lunch break.
Morning. I'm back to work as well, a half hour early to boot. But H was off all day yesterday, and it was delicious. I am so not ready to go back to work today.
H and I saw the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo on Friday. We had seen the Swedish version, and somehow H was still confused by the movie. I don't know how he enjoyed the subtitled version so much that he was the one who wanted to see the English version, and yet he didn't get it. Whatever. Men.
I'm back to work, yuck. But at least it's a 4-day week. I still feel crappy, mostly because the cold has gotten into my lungs so now it's an asthma problem too. I feel snotty, but that's probably good since I know the boss will give me a hard time about being out.
I'm slowly attempting to de-Christmas my desk. I can't remember how my desk was arranged before, so I'm just putting stuff wherever it fits at this point.
I'm here. And the only one in my entire office right now. It's kind of creepy.
Extra short week for me, since we had yesterday off and also Friday (but not next Monday, boooo.)
Rosie and Sesh, feel better.
Those of you who have read Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, is it worth it? I got a Kindle for Christmas and downloaded the preview, but couldn't get into it. I'm wondering if it just because it was the prologue I was reading.
Grover, I tried reading GWTDT and I just couldn't get into it. But for every person who says they disliked it, there are about five people who say they loved it.
One of H's customers, who loves to read, hated GWTDT. She said it was too slow and drawn-out, and that she hated the main character (although she saw the movie and said she liked her in that role).
It took me a long time (about 75 pages or so) to get into TGWTDT, but after that I was hooked, the other two books go a lot faster.
I didn't sleep so great last night and am pretty exhausted. FI took off this entire week, so it didn't help that while I was getting ready to leave he was still lounging about. He did pack my lunch for me though, so it will be a surprise to see what he packed.
Rosie, someone (probably my boss) left the coffee pot on, probably since Sunday. There was a charred mess at the bottom of the pot this morning to welcome me back to work. Good times.
Thanks Beanie - you just made me check the weather. Winter weather advisory tonight starting at about 4:00 and it's supposed to rain/snow all day. So much for my plan of taking the dog for a walk after work.
ick Rosie. My new desk is directly under an a/c vent. And it's an inside office with the a/c set at 73... in December... in Ohio... and the a/c still turns on every 15 minutes and blows cold air on me. I've e-mailed maintenance to ask them to put a deflector on the vent but it's been a month and no luck yet.
It's raining here right now, and I think it's supposed to for most of the day. Rain makes me wish I was home in bed, since I always sleep better when it's storming out.
Holy mother of fritos a cockroach the size of a fvcking sotball just climbed up my wall. I started screaming and the cleaning guy ran in my office. Said he thought someone was trying to kill me. I think the cockroach was
Thank goodness the next two weeks are 4 day weeks for me too.
I'm on call for the first time tonight. I'm anxious only because I'm tired already. I'm going to try to get a nap in at some point today before my on-call time starts.
Don't even bring up the cornbread Fezz. I am going to have to bring this up in a staff meeting. Note to all staff, leaving cornbread in your office from the thanksgiving dinner is NOT allowed. Cockroaches like moldy cornbread.

Thank god yes. But i got to see how quick the roach moves and that freaked me out probably more than anything else.
Morning. I'm still trying to motivate my way into work. I woke up when my alarm went off, but I needed a couple more hours of sleep. I really hope the weather gets cold enough for a fire this weekend.

I hope the cold doesn't take, Rosie!

We get next Monday off too. Yay for 4-day weeks.
Fifteen more days and I have a week off anyway!

Short week for me too - only 3 days. I would much rather have Monday off than Friday, though.
Woke up to a parking ticket this morning because I parked in front of my house last night. Ugh.
