Wow, Nebb, good luck to your brother. 4 months is a long time! And Chels, it's funny to me that it would be your first time sleeping together at your IL's. I met my H's parents about a month after meeting him and we slept in the same bed together. A twin bed, no less.
    Posted by jennamarie10
Why is this funny?

Also, I'm with Capone. I don't much care that people brought kids to the movies, I don't really think people's parenting needs to come under fire because ffs, people were terrorized during what should have been an exciting night of viewing a highly anticipated film opening to rave reviews. People were injured and were killed.

I could just puke. We can't even go to a fucking movie anymore without worrying about shitlike this?

Anyway sorry. I'm kind of in a sour mood I guess. I did have a pretty awesome, productive work day yesterday. But today sucks and I feel like I could drink four beers right now.

Morning! I'm tired and cranky because we lost power last night and I had to transfer all of the party food I spent all day making to my parents fridge. But, power is back, Bug is napping on schedule (we have pics today) and OMG MY BABY IS 1!!

Aso Happy Birthday to her twin brother from another mother, Sparky :)

It's going to be so weird saying good night to MIL and go to bed with H (since she was so crazy about our sleeping arrangements before we were married).

I just noticed this part- my IL's were the same way, except they started allowing it about a month before the wedding. It was weird for us a first, too. After you do it once, it will be no big deal, though. :)

  • Also I'm now reading tweets that James Holmes' apartment was booby trapped so his neighbors are having to be evacuated. Holy mother of fuckingballs, the level of pre-meditation in this attack is staggering. I find it extremely satisfying that he didn't puss out and kill himself and that he's now in custody. Does CO have the death penalty?

I believe so, even though they've only actually executed 1 or 2 people in the last thirty years or something.

I'm following all of the updates of the story but I'm still not getting anything more on the mother. How do you just wake up and know without anyone telling you that it was your son? Also, if my child that deranged that I would suspect them of murdering people, I probably would be taking measures to ensure that they are seeing someone/hopsitilized/medicated or something so they don't hurt themselves or anyone else.

ETA: My mom is all happy about the fact that she's buying a new/bigger bed for my old room so FI and I will have a bed to share when we are married.

I never sleep well there. They don't have central AC or heat so it's typically either really hot or really cold most of the time. Plus, Sadie is so on edge that she barks at every little sound, and since it's in the country, there are a lot of little sounds.

Jenna- Its well known Chels and her H did not have sex before marriage.

When my stepdaughter came to visit her dad with her now H, he made them sleep in separate bedrooms.

There's a writeup at toronto.ctvnews.ca I can't link on my phone but if you go to the site its the first story.
  • I just got back from my lady appt. All went well, and the doc seemed truly interested in my health. He's going to put me in for a consultation for a Mirena, since I've been so unlucky with BC pills. I also am getting a referrale to a cardiologist for the heart palpitations I'm getting (20-30/day), which were most likely brought on by being on Yaz for 3+ years. And to top it all off, he was able to put me in for a referral to a PT for my sciatica, so that was an awesome bonus.

He also had awesome bedside manner, which really put me at ease. I felt comfortable sitting there in my little paper gown, going over my history with him so he knew me well enough to make sound recommendations. WAY better than the docs at my previous unit, who made me feel like I was making stuff up for attention or something.

Harry, I can understand your nervousness about gyno appts, but keep in mind that the more tense you are, the more difficult and painful the exam will be. Just breathe (in through your nose, out through your mouth) and that'll help soothe you. If your doc is any good, it'll be over quickly.

A gyno I had once told me he could tell I was tense and holding my breath cause when you hold your breath you turn blue down there. I started laughing and everything was fine after that. Relax those coochie muscles.
  • I am late as usually but catching up. I went to a midnight showing of Dark Knight last night and woke up to the news from CO. It is just so sad and unbelievable. Those poor victims and their families.

Nebb- T&P to your brother and your family.

Happy birthday to the SB babies, a year has gone by so fast.

    Haha that's awesome!

Most of the exam rooms I've been in have put pictures of puppies and baby ducks on the ceiling so when you're getting prodded you can look at those cute little guys. I appreciate it.

  • yeah, my favorite line is "Just relax your bottom" UM, your face is about 4 inches from my crotch and I know you're about to put a cold instrument inside of it, it's hardly the time to relax. Maybe baby puppies on the ceiling would help, but I doubt it.

  • The most awkward gyno comment I've ever had was "My, you sure do have tight muscles, don't you?". I completely forgot about what was happening and relaxed and my exam went much better. But still, it was weird.

    Exactly!

I've had so many gyno exams over the years (annually, and then anytime I want to switch BC), that I've gotten pretty comfortable with them and discussing what's going on. I learned the hard way that it pays to be 100% honest and not shy about my health.
