I'm back to being unemployed and a lot of my time is spent watching movies. If it's one thing I love other than music, it is movies. But I'm running out of movies. So, please share with me a movie that you really love - any genre but horror, please - but no one else you know has heard of it. Maybe it was an indie film that was only shown in select theaters, or a foreign film that was never released in the U.S., or maybe you caught it on HBO at 4AM because there was nothing else on and you ended up loving it - you know, something like that.
For example, I love this film called "The Door in the Floor", staring Jeff Bridges, Kim Basinger and Elle Fanning (baby sister of Dakota). It's about an 18 year old boy who signs on to be a writer's assistant for a summer. The writer and his wife lost their teenage sons in an accident years ago, and tried to save their marriage by having another child, but it's not working, and at the film's beginning, they are separated. The boy ends up carrying on an affair with the writer's wife. It's loosely based on the novel A Widow For One Year by John Irving. It's a very heavy drama, and I saw it for a media criticism class in college. I loved it so much I bought the DVD. But no one else I know has heard of it!
So gimme some flicks!
