Oooh, I just found out that I might get to see my father tomorrow. He's going through town (well, like 30 mins away) and might be able to stop and have a meal with us. It might end up being us sitting down to Waffle House at 2 am lol.

Hi all!
I'm hanging out online until dinner so I can stay out of FIs way while he works on a project. We're into finals for grad school, and he took the day off of work to make progress on his final project. Its been crazy juggling grad school, wedding, buying a condo, and him working full time!
Nates - I had a red velvet petit four yesterday - it was yummy. Now I really want some of that ice cream. I might get some when I go to Kroger.
Mica - I'm sorry to hear he sucks. May I ask why? Oh, and you're more than welcome to come take over the rest of the planning for me. It's giving me a headache. And bring some of your cake : p
**Edited because for some strange reason I decided to capitalize ice cream. Must be because it's so good, it deserves capitalization.**

Noooo that sounds delicious. Must... not... succumb....
Ooh, I'm definitely getting some of that ice cream.
I love planning weddings (especially ours), so I'm not too bummed about Vegas because now I get to plan "another" wedding without actually having a second wedding. (Not that I'd ever do a PPD.)
Ok, I give up. I cannot for the ever loving life of me figure out how to get my sig right over there. I resize it on photobucket, but it doesn't make a difference. I need to eat dinner. I'm getting cranky.
Target is amazing. It's amazing how a quick trip can turn into hours of looking at stuff, telling myself I really don't need to buy it!
I prefer dark chocolate cake to red velvet though. The "mini" chocolate bundt cakes at Trader Joes are the best!
I'm finally back to share the chaos of the wedding day. We had tons of OOT guests leaving today to go and visit.
So, first off, the ceremony was rained out. We had to go with our rain plan which was to have the ceremony on the dance floor of the reception tent. Nobody knew where to go and guests were all over the damn place. Just about every single guest saw me in my gown before the ceremony. Also, people couldn't hear the officiant over the rain. I was disappointed not to get my beautiful outdoor ceremony, but it was okay. I got over it.
Then. We have a power outage during the salad course. The venue didn't have a backup generator. The tables were outside under a tent, but the buffet was inside, in a room with no windows. There was literally a dude holding a battery operated spotlight over his head to light the buffet. We had no DJ while the power was out, just a battery operated ipod dock. The power was out for about 2 1/2 hours. The venue staff went out back and lit a charcoal grill to melt the chocolate instead of having the chocolate fountain.
Whatever, its okay. We get over it.
So the battery operated ipod dock is playing some fun music even without a dj mixing or whatever. There's a dance party going after dinner, everyone's drinking and dancing and happy.
For about ten minutes.
THEN my FIL goes down. Passes out, falls on the ground, grabs the tent support on his way down and very nearly takes it out. My dad, (who runs the emergency medical system for his county) gets him to the side and everyone's freaking out. We think he's having a heart attack.
Dad gets him out of the puddle he landed in and off to the side and is doing his paramedic stuff. Everyone's crowding him and crying and I'm just trying to get people to give him some air. If you're not a medical professional, back up! MIL comes rushing up, she was inside at the bar. She's a nurse, so between her and my Dad, he's in great hands, but everyone else is trying to get in the way and hover.
FIL is fine, didn't have a heart attack. His blood pressure abruptly dropped for some reason and he passed out. FIL, MIL and Dad missed pretty much the entire reception. The power finally came back on about an hour before it was over.
That's the main three things, but there were about a dozen little things that went wrong too (Like being super late, the venue staff being completely disorganized, the DJ arguing with me... Not to mention that our favors were ruined on Wednesday and our centerpeices getting fuucked up on Thursday.)
At the end of the day, we're married and that's the important part. But I wish it had just gone better. It was just one thing after another all day long
Muni! Congrats on being married - I'm happy for you. I'm really sorry to hear things went so crazy though. I'm glad your FIL is okay - that must have been super scary. I know it was raining like crazy here yesterday - I was thinking about you and wondering how it was. *Hugs* I can't wait to see pics!
Nates -- that sounds wonderful. This knowledge will be dangerous the next time I'm at the grocery store.
Pokes -- my FBIL has been a leech to my family. My parents have paid my sister's and his rent for the last 1.5 years. He is finally employed, but he's making no effort to pay rent now. He also manages to order the most expensive item on the menu every time my father takes him out to eat. Also, during that time when he was unemployed and my sister was working, he still made her do all the cooking and cleaning. I positively hate him and wish my sister's eyes would open to his loser status.
FBIL's ex girlfriend(s) were like this. His last one I got drunk and called her a slut b/c she "fell" in my friend's lap, and was like rubbing against him when I came out with his GF (he was trying to get away from her but she kept "falling").
FBIL and his parents were pissed at me, but it turns out I was right she was a slut and a money sucking one at it.
He gave her an Audi that was like new (he rebuilt it and upgraded everything) only for her to crash it.
I'm sorry to hear about the problems at your wedding MyUserName1. Target is great-hopefully we can get in and out of there without too much extra stuff.
Goodness Mica - that does sound awful! Do you guys have a close relationship? If it were my sister I'd want to have a H2H with her about it, not that she'd probably listen. I also can't believe your parents are okay with paying for their rent and his mooching. Unless they're not, and are just trying to be supportive of your sister. Still, though, at some point enough should be enough. I have to say, I seriously hard core judge people that take advantage of others generosity. I don't care if you're the richest person on the planet - I'm not going to try to weasel money out of you.
Oh my goodness, Muni. You sound like you were a lot calmer than I would have been.
I'm glad your FIL is okay. I can't stand when people crowd and gawk at someone in trouble. As you said, if you aren't a medical professional, get the eff away.
Oh, Muni, I'm sorry I can't even say anything comforting, because I know that I'd be upset, despite the "marriage is the most important part" mentality. Hugs.
Hugs Muni. Sorry about all the crazy.
I think that Mica should plan my wedding since I am so conveniently located.
I love target and all things red velvet.
Poke -- my father is a sucker, he has a fear of letting my sister hit rock bottom and will delay his retirement to prevent her from having to deal with reality. It drives H and me nuts. My sister thinks it's a-okay that my parents pay for her rent (and by extension, her FI's rent), and this attitude has driven us apart because I am NOT okay with this. She is 31, almost 32, and needs to take responsibility for her existence on this planet.
