I'm sure some crazy company does. Or else they just cook up some veggies and rice and feed it to their cats. The thing is, cats are CARNIVORES. Not omnivores. They NEED meat to live. They need the taurine and the protein and other things you ONLY get from meat that humans don't necessarily need. They get sick if you don't feed them meat products.

This is why I have absolutely no problem with the whole Sarah Palin hunting/hunting in general thing. Most of the eggs we used when I was growing up were the eggs from our own chickens. They were free range and we had about 30 chickens and during the summer we would get about 3 dozen eggs a day. We finally started giving them to my grandmas friends because we couldn't use them all.

True story. When the world all goes to shiit, I'm going to hang out with my in-laws in KY.
I am the first to say that I think Sarah Palin is a twatwaffle, but the whole thing with her killing the carimoose on tv was ridiculous IMO. Even if she killed it for the show, they still clearly utilized all of the meat and planned to eat it all. It wasn't like her family had never hunted before and just left the entire body for dead.

Mery, yes. She said that she would turn away or transfer calls from non-native English speakers because it wasn't her job to understand them, and it eventually came out through much backpedaling that what she really meant was that if she couldn't understand someone's accent, she would try to direct them to someone else who might help.

*shudder* I don't want to know. That's why I've never watched the PETA "Meet your meat" videos. I just don't need to do it.
I would also like to agree with what Squirrly is saying. I put up my ticker at 7 weeks because by then I had passed the point when I had my two miscarriages. I also found that when I didn't have the ticker for my second miscarriage I had to deal with well meaning people asking me how the pregnancy was every day for about 3 months. At this point if the ticker went away I would hope people would know not to continue asking how things were going. I have also been to the hospital twice for threatened miscarriages with this pregnancy and not once have I thought "damn, wish I didn't have that ticker up!"
I will admit it's made me sad at times to see a bunch of tickers go up. It's a bittersweet kind of thing. I'm super excited for the person, but hell, I've been trying to have a kid since before Tide has had Taryn, so yes sometimes it's hard to see all of the babies and know that my first pregnancy would have been their age. But it's not like people aren't allowed to post about happy things just because bad things happen to other people.
Also real quick word on the animal thing because I feel like it's being interpreted incorrectly. Most of the people in the thread (I think, at least I know how it was for me) were not arguing that a human life is not worth that of an animal's or that an animal's is worth more, but that it's not right for someone to abuse, torture, and murder over 50 dogs and be receiving kudos from the President and make millions of dollars a year.
I didn't get that at all from this thread, Katie. Not sure if anyone brought in the Vick thing. I think we can ALL agree with that, regardless of where you stand on animals.
and I'm sorry you're having a difficult pregnancy. Is it getting any easier?

I'm just gonna jump in here because I also am amazed at the count of posts in this thread. I like meat. FI is obsessed with hunting and I respect him for his diligent practices of safe hunting. Nothing bothers him more than people who give hunting a bad name by being careless when shooting (and just leaving an animal wounded) or poaching.
Oh, as I said earlier, I don't go over there. Glad things are much better for you Katie
Ok, I'm out of here! Talk to you guys later!
