Omg I keep getting repeatedly ragey at this. fuckaduck it sucks. I know some newer models have it, but FFS macs have had that for years. This laptop is probably about 2 or 3 years old I'm guessing.

40% of responses? That is a lot! I think we had about 20 people to track down at the end of my deadline.

[QUOTE].  Their house is on Amelia Island, off the coast of Jacksonville. It's my favorite place on earth :)

I love Amelia Island. We have friends that live up there and I do book stuff near their "downtown" area with all the little shops. I'd totally live up there.

Have you been to the Talbot Islands near there? That's where we did our TTD.
  • I know it's not the same thing, but I rowed in just a regular rowboat before and that's exhausting in itself.  I can't imagine doing it as fast as they do, in sync.

  • I've never been to Amelia Island but I always hear about how nice it is. I don't get to the east coast too much but when I do, I'm usually closer to Daytona area.

  • I don't mind using Windows, but I hate not having the scrolling, pinching, swiping stuff that Macs have.
  • What do you do in Daytona, Petal? I grew up there and it's incredibly boring. Unless you like NASCAR and a crappy boardwalk.

Wait, I lie. There used to be a go-cart track on the top of an arcade at the boardwalk. It was small, but the guy would throw water on the track at random times so you'd spin around and crash. That was fun.

<div>Most of them are people on FI's side and my dad's work friends, and my mom's cousins that she added at the last meeting.  I FB messaged our mutual friends, and one has already responded that he's coming.  We have to have at least 100 people for the venue.  I'm hoping that I have a pile of RSVPs in the mail Monday and Tuesday.  After that, we are calling people because the venue needs the numbers by next Saturday.</div><div>

<div>The downtown area is so cute. They have a great bookstore there, a lot of local authors do signings and whatnot. </div><div>
</div><div>I haven't been to Talbot Islands since I was little, but I remember it being really pretty. I think that's where I found a giant conch shell, haha.</div>
  • My grandmother has a condo in New Smyrna so we stay there sometimes. We go to the beach, walk around downtown, and just relax mostly. It's close enough to Daytona though if we want to go to the movies or shopping. So not really Daytona.

New Snyrna is pretty. My dad's FI used to live there.

Port Orange has a new theater now in their town center (I forget what that new development is actually called, I just say town center since that's what ours is). It's absurdely expensive but all others closed because of that one. I miss my crappy 6-theater Port Orange 6 with the uneven floors and squeaky chairs. That place was my sanctuary.

<div>One of the people we invited from church is doing this.  They don't know if they can come because the husband might have a diaconate (he is a deacon at the church I grew up in) event going on that weekend.  </div><div>
</div><div>And my mom made a big deal about inviting her cousins to the shower in my hometown last weekend and inviting them to the wedding.  I haven't received a response from them AND they didn't even come to the shower.  </div>

  • We didn't have too many RSVPs to track down, luckily.

I wish I was better at painting my nails. I got a new polish and I love the color, but I can never get an even line near my cuticle.

Leisel- I'm the same way with my nails. It's irritating, I have to concentrate so hard.

We didn't have many people to track down either. The one person I did have to wait the longest for said he would come and bring his son. They never showed. I was highly irritated.

  • I can get both my hands to look about the same....but there is never ever an even line along my cuticle, even on my left hand. Painting nails is just not my thing, I guess.

<div>I keep having nightmares of the people who RSVP yes not showing up.  The WR dreams have become increasingly more bizarre the closer it's getting to the day.</div><div>
</div><div>ETA:  that was one of the semi-sane ones.  </div>

  • What pissed me off the most was the 10 people who rsvp'd yes and didn't show up or didn't stay for dinner. Assholes.
  • The only WR dream I had was that I had the wrong dress, wrong veil, wrong everything and showed up to the ceremony with no makeup on. It was weird and anxiety inducing.
  • I can't remember how many people we had to track down. But I was probably annoyed, as I was annoyed at how many were coming to begin with.

I had lots of WR nightmares. Mostly, natural disasters. Tornados, hurricanes, earthquakes all happeneing on our wedding day. A couple times I forgot my dress, so I got married in my "Mrs. HLast Name" robe.

I think we had 3 people RSVP yes and ended up not showing. My wedding nightmares were hit and miss. I always have crazy ass dreams though so I wasn't too surprised..

<div>Not staying for dinner is weird. I've never heard of someone not staying at least for the free food at weddings, haha.</div>
  • I'm hoping that when I call the hotel on Monday to get the list of people that reserved rooms, I can knock a few more people off the list to call.
