<div>My dad's aunt adopted a dog that was a Katrina rescue! It was after the boxer rescue basically said she was too old to adopt a dog.</div>
If anyone goes to NO, try the Italian restaurant on Bourbon Street. My H and I ate there at the beginning of the month and it was to die for. Go at night b/c the candle lit atmosphere was so romantic and they were playing Sinatra. I think the place was called Tony Morans.
some rescues are insane. they told h's parents they weren't home enough for a dog. his mom worked nights, his dad days... that place was actually just shut down basically for animal abuse/hoarding.

oh a local dog from here just went to best friends. i'll have to see if he's still here. he was a stray in a neighborhood for like 5 years before someone caught him. he obviously has little social skills, so Best friends took him in.
