I really want to do intervals at the gym on the treadmill but I feel really self-concious. I used to do it at our old apt gym because I was by myself. I know I shouldnt feel like that because we are all there for the same reason but I just feel really wierd. Anyone else feel like this when you first started? I just feel self-concious about everything ( classes, running, weights) but I feel even more like that towards running.
Re: Self-concious about running on the treadmill.
Honestly, the only people I really judge at the gym are the girls who read magazines and chat on the phone while lazily going through the motions on the ellipticals. If I saw someone doing intervals on a treadmill (even if they looked a little silly), I'd still think they were awesome for pushing themselves through such a tough workout.
Seriously, just do it! After a workout or two, you wont' feel so self-conscious anymore.

Add to that, those who set it on an impossible incline and hang off the top of the TM.
We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?

I also used to just stare at all the super fit, tiny girls running on the treadmil in complete jealousy and awe.. but lately I've been telling myself that that's what I'm going to look like some day!
Turn those negative thoughts around and think about how much good you are doing for your body! You can do it!
AJ- Good point.
I am going to try it today and see how it goes.
