Ring insurance

Thoughts, comments, concerns?

Any pointers on a good company? Any experiences you've had or heard of, bad or good?

I need to get this done asap, so I am trying to get quotes but I wouldn't even know what company to start with. I currently have State Farm so I will check through them also.

We are using a company that the jewelry store deals with, Gem Shield. We could not put it under our renters insurance because it only covered up to a certain amount and my ring was over it.

I use Jeweler's Mutual; it was highly rated by Consumer Reports, etc.   I heard Chubb (sp?) is good, too, but JM offerred me a better deal.

My other bank, USAA, also offerred me a separate plan as well.

We went through GemShield, very easy process.

The only thing I don't like is the annual inspection.

I don't know if it mandatory, but I dont know if they will renew without the new appraisal.

It says on the form that the annual inspection is suggested.
