Ha! Poke. That is absurd. I love you for giving me that butterfly :)

Oh wow on the photographer, Leisel. Yikes.

Time for this old bat to hit the hay! And to all a good night!

I love you for entertaining me with tales of Hooters Bride.

A lingerie photographer is kind of like a wedding photographer..... in no way.

    Goodnight, Wally!

This is one of the longest evening threads I've seen in awhile.

It's awesome. I don't usually get to participate much, but I have tomorrow off, so I'm staying up late.
  • Options
And I'm usually the last one in the evening thread, but I'm tired.

Goodnight ladies! Thanks for keeping me entertained this evening since H isn't home. :)

I'm surprised at how late this thread has gone. I feel like if I get here past 10pm no one's around.

Yeah, the photographer thing is nuts. She also refuses to rent anything. She bought all her linens, is buying napkins, buying chair covers, buying plates. Like...why? WHY? It makes no sense to me.

    Night, Wally and Jess!

Alright ladies, I'm out. Gotta finish cleaning my room so the window and carpet cleaners can come tomorrow and thursday. Have a good night everyone!

    Night, Jess and Sara!

Leisel, that is crazy. What is she going to do with all that crap when she's finished with it? I'm hoping to have to buy almost nothing for the wedding... I don't want to have to deal with it afterwards.

<div>In my case - buying tablecloths was the same price as renting. I figured I'd sell the tablecloths afterwards. I ended up donating them to my uncle's Krewe because he expressed an interest in buying them. </div><div>
</div><div>ETA: I didn't expect to fully make my money back. I figured I'd sell them for half of what I bought them for. </div>

I hope HB is planning to sell all that stuff after the wedding. Unless she's planning to use chair covers for her Fourth of July BBQ or something...
  • Options
I was about to say in her defense buying was the same price as renting plus you could get your money back afterwards, but then I remembered you'd have to actually sell them to get the money back Embarassed . Mine have been stashed away for over 6 months now.

Poke, I can definitely understand buying if the price is comparable or if you have something in mind for them after, but she just wants ivory table cloths and there are places here that rent them for so cheap it's ridiculous. She doesn't do research and buys things on a whim. It's very weird to me.

  • Options
Yeah, around here it was actually cheaper to buy them after the 10% discount I got. And I meant to sell them, but a donation is just as good.
  • Options
Luckily, linens and plates and stuff all come with the venue, and I like the chairs, so no covers necessary. I'm hoping to not have to buy much of anything as far as decorations go.

And Leisel - if I buy this and send it to you, will you please please give it to HB? \

  • Options
I don't think we bought anything for the wedding. I wanted to rent as much as possible, and then not have to worry about clean up or any of that. That's really the only reason we hired a wedding planner, because I seriously did all the designing and timing stuff myself, haha. She just provided the "stuff" and did all the set up. I felt really special after the wedding because my wedding planner is looking to sell her business and wanted me to consider buying it. Clearly I'm in no position to do that, but the more I think about it the more I'd like to be a wedding planner some day. I just loved it.

Leisel, you're more than welcome to come plan my wedding ;)

I actually hate wedding planning. I'm excited for it to all come together, but the planning process is annoying.

My mom briefly thought she might like to become a wedding planner, until she realized that all her weekends in the summer would be spent at weddings and she'd never get to go to the shore. That idea went out the window pretty quickly.

I loved planning my wedding. But I'm totally chill.

My caterer was running a little late. I'm talking like 10 mins tops. But my uncles and parents were all freaked out about it. I was like look guys - it'll suck if he doesn't show and I'll have to take him to court. But there is no reason to stress over it right now. If we need to, we can send some poeple to buy pizza and garlic bread if need be.

Everyone looked at me like I'd grown another head. Including H. See, when he's not with me it's like I've lost all ability to deal with stress. But when he's there I rarely freak out.

I'm not laidback. At all. Which is why I'm going to designate someone else to deal with any crisises that come up on the wedding day. I won't be able to handle it, I'll lose it.

Wow. You guys are still up?n Normally the night thread is dead by this time.

Yeah, after addressing all my STDs and invitations my mom thought she might want to do that on the side for some money. I told her it was a bad idea. She was so freaked out about possibly messing up that I felt the need to give her a strong drink when she was done. Doing it for someone else would be worse.
