I said it in thread/s, but I majorly roll my eyes at people who are indignant about "grandmas" being searched by TSA. Dude, profile much? I'd much rather my grandma was searched than TSA engage in profiling.

And? That includes kids. Sorry, AATB, I'm glad they took your little sister's scissors. They SHOULD take things from little kids. Just because people are old or young doesn't mean they can't be terrorists or pawns for terrorists. The scary thing about that is you don't even see the person pulling the strings there.

I thought Vegas's post was funny, in an ironic and gently self-deprecating kind of way. I appreciate that particular brand of humor.

I don't understand why some people found it so confusing, and I especially don't understand why <em>Vegas </em>got the side-eye when he was complimented on his appearance. It's not he like he was telling himself how hot he is! :p And, anyway, a certain amount of gushing is expected when one of the women on the board posts a new picture, so it seems to me that we have a bit of a double-standard going on.

I don't have much. I definitely agree with J&K about that tinydancer girl. Oh and NickChic or whatever her name was who asked a question and everytime someone tried to answer she came back with some reason why that wouldn't work. She basically knew it all. I'll see if I can find a link.

I didn't read it as that at all, I read it as side eyeing the fawning over his appearance in general. Not that VEGAS was getting side eyed for it.

And I've read two posts by the OP of the inmates thread, and the other one was suggesting someone get an eating disorder to save on a grocery bill, so....yeah, she's not on my nice list this Christmas.

This is a total AYG bonerkilling side note, but there's a great YA novel called The Terrorist by Caroline Cooney. It is freaking creepy and all about kids being pawns for terrorist groups (of course, it's YA and fiction, so it's somewhat melodramatic, but still an easy, interesting read).

Oh J - I totally agree and I completely understand why they took the scissors. I just thought it was funny. I know that they can't make any exceptions because if they make an exception here and there, it just becomes a slippery slope and then we're not checking everyone completely and bad shiit could happen. But yeah, I just thought it was funny - and it did have a good ending since she did get them back :)

Agreed with the tinydancer. She totally missed the point of B's post and just got all indignant about luxury cars. Green isn't a cute color on most people.

And I flame myself for my post about the "penciling in". I should have realized my emotions were getting the best of me that day. But I do appreciate no one being too harsh on me for it so thanks for that.

I think it has less to do with Vegas and more to do with people's reaction to him. We don't have to analyze everything he says and talk about how whiney or amazing it is, wonder whether he's a troll just because he's a guy, etc. Who really cares? Since I've been lurking and posting, there have been pendulum swings between Vegas love and annoyance and, honestly, I just don't get why people care at all.
