I didn't have my food or cake figured out until about a month before. Bahaha. I knew I wanted cakes on each table, though. They turned out awesome but our baker said she'd never, ever do it again. She made 46 cakes.

Haha. Know whats funny? When I saw her post that I was like "Well then you have never really pissed her off". Then I saw this.
We are all judgey at times. And we all need to get put into our place once in awhile. I am not above getting told to stfu when I dont know what I am talking about. Sure you have been rough with me in the past, but its all good. I have done the same to others and we are all human.
To be honest, if it had really hurt my feelings that bad, we would have had a major blowout. Im just lucky I guess that I have a thicker skin than most. I look at flames and such (warranted ones) as learning experiences.
Take the political stuff. A few of you have said I come off sounding ignorant when I get into it. I think its because I feel strongly about stuff and have a harder time finding the right words to use when I get that emotional about it. I have taken that advice and tried to use it. The last thing I want to come off as is ignorant or stupid. IRL I have a better way of verbalizing what I am trying to say and think of myself as educated on the topics, but for some reason on here it doesnt come out that way 75% of the time. I think to really explain how I feel on those types of things would take a novel (kind of like what this has turned into) so I have been making an effort to keep it simple and not get riled up about it.

How did you meet your guy? I was drug out of my house kicking and screaming to a local bar because I became a hermit. She was with her bf and his friend ( see a set up anyone?) well they got all mooshy and nasty so we went outside. We sat out there for 5 hours, even after they closed the bar just talking.
How did he propose? this is kinda odd and long bare with me(sp).. We went up to the mountains for our anniversary and he kept teasing me the whole way about what he got me and I wasn't aloud in the trunk. Ok.. Well we go hiking where we had been several months prior to this huge waterfall where everything really just clicked for us (yes we had a "moment") he was acting SO odd! Well we got down there and this MASSIVE tourist group got there he got all pissy and said we were leaving. Well he was getting snappy and weird all the way back to the car and opened the trunk and tossed out packs in there.. well me being me I made a wise smarta$$ comment about the trunk and my present.BAD idea! (I regret this now) I was trying to make him feel better. We go out to dinner he is still a nervous wreck and wont tell me why. We get back to our cabin take a shower and get ready for bed I turn to him and he is on his knee with the ring in his hand and asked me to marry him. bless his heart but it's still a little odd to tell his family about our proposal because I was seriously standing in front of the fireplace in a tshirt and booty shorts when he asked me>.<

I'm going to have to disagree with you there Nates. There are several worse parts of NJ IMO: Camden, Irvington, East Orange, creepy stick towns full of Pineys in South Jersey, to name a few. Newark really isn't so bad, it gets a bad rep. Sure there are some not so nice areas, but downtown with NJPAC and The Rock, the Market St. area with the Spanish and Portuguese restuarants and areas like Iron Bound are all nice and Corey Booker has done wonders to clean up the city.

Normally I don't like people names for pets, but Miles seems to suit him. I like it. The pic makes me smile every time I see it and I just want to stare back at him and wave.
How did you meet your guy? He was my high school boyfriend's best friend, and we dated a bit in high school but really got together just after we graduated and were about to go to College 3 hours apart.
How did he propose? With the ring box inside a box of McNuggets :-) He worked there for a very long time and I always used to go and buy nuggets late at night so I could see him. It was extremely appropriate. Plus I got a snack out of it!
Why are you lurking on SB? Because I love the snark I guess. I thoroughly enjoy AYG, I love the way trolls get flamed to no end (as well they should) and you all just seem to share so many of my thoughts on many many things.

He showed me the pics he took of my things. It cracked me up.
The day after the proposal, when we were packing up to go home, he told me about that. And the fact that he about had a heart attack the morning we were leaving; I had things strewn all over the bathroom counter, but was trying to clean up since my mom was coming to town the next day. He had already looked at all of my junk and took mental stock of where it was on the counter. He came into the bathroom a few minutes later and saw that everything wasn't on the counter anymore.
He asked me what I did with everything that was out. I said I put it away. He said what do you mean 'away'? Where's away? And in my mind, I'm thinking, what do you care? It's cleaned up. Meanwhile, he said that in his head he was screaming that he wouldn't be able to find anything. I about cried laughing when he was telling me this.
Which, I guess I should add that I was told to be ready to go and down in the kitchen by X time, but we weren't leaving 'til 20 minutes later. When I was ready, he said he had to 'prepare upstairs' for when we got home from the date. And I wasn't allowed to go upstairs anymore. Turns out, that's when he was up there frantically packing a bag for me and trying to find where I 'hid' all of my stuff haha.

IRL I have a better way of verbalizing what I am trying to say and think of myself as educated on the topics, but for some reason on here it doesnt come out that way 75% of the time. I think to really explain how I feel on those types of things would take a novel (kind of like what this has turned into) so I have been making an effort to keep it simple and not get riled up about it.

How did you meet your guy? I was drug out of my house kicking and screaming to a local bar because I became a hermit. She was with her bf and his friend ( see a set up anyone?) well they got all mooshy and nasty so we went outside. We sat out there for 5 hours, even after they closed the bar just talking.
How did he propose? this is kinda odd and long bare with me(sp).. We went up to the mountains for our anniversary and he kept teasing me the whole way about what he got me and I wasn't aloud in the trunk. Ok.. Well we go hiking where we had been several months prior to this huge waterfall where everything really just clicked for us (yes we had a "moment") he was acting SO odd! Well we got down there and this MASSIVE tourist group got there

I'm going to have to disagree with you there Nates. There are several worse parts of NJ IMO: Camden, Irvington, East Orange, creepy stick towns full of Pineys in South Jersey, to name a few. Newark really isn't so bad, it gets a bad rep. Sure there are some not so nice areas, but downtown with NJPAC and The Rock, the Market St. area with the Spanish and Portuguese restuarants and areas like Iron Bound are all nice and Corey Booker has done wonders to clean up the city.

Normally I don't like people names for pets, but Miles seems to suit him. I like it. The pic makes me smile every time I see it and I just want to stare back at him and wave.
How did you meet your guy? He was my high school boyfriend's best friend, and we dated a bit in high school but really got together just after we graduated and were about to go to College 3 hours apart.
How did he propose? With the ring box inside a box of McNuggets :-) He worked there for a very long time and I always used to go and buy nuggets late at night so I could see him. It was extremely appropriate. Plus I got a snack out of it!

Funny you should ask that! When I got him the store told me he was a tabby....but then he kept growing and growing...We think he is a maine coon mix, because he isn't as big as a full maine coon, but he is certainly bigger than a tabby. And he shrills his meows, which I have read maine coons do.

He showed me the pics he took of my things. It cracked me up.
The day after the proposal, when we were packing up to go home, he told me about that. And the fact that he about had a heart attack the morning we were leaving; I had things strewn all over the bathroom counter, but was trying to clean up since my mom was coming to town the next day. He had already looked at all of my junk and took mental stock of where it was on the counter. He came into the bathroom a few minutes later and saw that everything wasn't on the counter anymore.
He asked me what I did with everything that was out. I said I put it away. He said what do you mean 'away'? Where's away? And in my mind, I'm thinking, what do you care? It's cleaned up. Meanwhile, he said that in his head he was screaming that he wouldn't be able to find anything. I about cried laughing when he was telling me this.
Which, I guess I should add that I was told to be ready to go and down in the kitchen by X time, but we weren't leaving 'til 20 minutes later. When I was ready, he said he had to 'prepare upstairs' for when we got home from the date. And I wasn't allowed to go upstairs anymore. Turns out, that's when he was up there frantically packing a bag for me and trying to find where I 'hid' all of my stuff haha.
