Are you engaged? How'd your FI ask? (short story please) Engaged, J asked by taking us on a re-do of our first date and then getting on one knee in the middle of downtown Minneapolis.

Have you been lurking for a while, or did you just show up? I lurked for about a month or so before feeling comfortable and then started stepping into conversations.

How has wedding planning been for you? It is ok, I suppose. I just want it to be over with though.

Mandy wants to know if you like pizza? Why yes, yes I do.

Alix wants to know if you like vampires, and which ones? I have no opinion, I guess. I have never seen/read Twilight though which I guess is sinful around here.

Team Peeta or Team Gale? I've only read book 1 so I'm on Team Peeta for now.

Why don't you post more often? Do you think you will now? I post all the time, woops.

Oh - animals, do you have any? I'm sure a cute picture of an animal would make you some friends here. I have the cutest little lab girl pup you ever did see!

I would definitely consider myself a NEWB on this board, since I don't post often enough... but I lurk.

How goes it? Tell us about yourself. It goes well. I'm 28. I teach a Special Education English class on a Native American Community.

Are you engaged? How'd your FI ask? (short story please) Yes. We've been together for 7 years on June 3rd. He asked me Labor Day 2010... we're getting married Labor Day weekend 2011. He got down on his knee and asked me on a road trip to Sedona by pretty rocks.

Have you been lurking for a while, or did you just show up? Lurking, posting a little.

How has wedding planning been for you? It's going well. Sometimes it's stressful, but I'm really at the point where I just want to get to the wedding and see how everything turns out... and of course marry FI.

Mandy wants to know if you like pizza? Love it, I can only eat feta cheese so I like my pizza with feta and a lot of vegetables.

Alix wants to know if you like vampires, and which ones? Yes. I like many vampires. I think my favorite vampires are on True Blood. Probably Eric.

Team Peeta or Team Gale? I don't know what this is..... but I'd say Gale.

Why don't you post more often? Do you think you will now? I would like to. Sometimes my responses get ignored, so I don't feel like it. I think the convos are very interesting though.

I'm so late to this...sad.

How goes it? Tell us about yourself. I am a 26-year-old grad student in Industrial Engineering at Michigan. I went to college here too. I'm a huge Michigan fan. And I'm from Michigan, but I also lived in Iowa and North Carolina for a while. I am moving to Chicago when I graduate. FI and I are trying to buy a condo there. I am allergic to cats but otherwise would like them. I don't have a dog because I am too busy to take care of one well. I like to run, but I'm really slow.

Are you engaged? How'd your FI ask? (short story please) Engaged since last August. FI had a set of clues for me to solve, and the last one came out to be "will you marry me?" It was really sweet because FI lives in Chicago and I live in Michigan, and I had no idea he was coming to town until he showed up on my doorstep, and starting giving me the clues.

Have you been lurking for a while, or did you just show up? I've been lurking a long while. So it feels like I know you ladies, but you don't know me.

How has wedding planning been for you? Mostly ok. I have the regular complaints about pretty standard annoying parent behavior, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Mandy wants to know if you like pizza? Deep dish, with mushrooms.

Alix wants to know if you like vampires, and which ones? RPatz.

Team Peeta or Team Gale? I haven't read HG: grad school has killed any desire I have to read. Once I'm done, I intend to catch up on HG, Water for Elephants, and a number of other things I have missed.

Why don't you post more often? Do you think you will now? For a while I was intimidated, but I'm really not anymore. I post now when I have time to come around, which is a lot in the evening, and really variable during the day.

Hey there. How are you? We haven't had a round of introductions in a while and I see a lot of new names. I want to play! I don't think I ever did introduce myself :X

How goes it? Tell us about yourself. Good! But I just got a tedius project dumped on me at work and I need a break!

Are you engaged? How'd your FI ask? (short story please) Yes. Been together one and off for 10 and a half years now so we've been talking marriage a long while now but I'm closer to the "it's a piece of paper" boat and wasn't in a rush. We also didn't really want a big "wedding wedding". But I finally got a ring on my finger this past new years and I got swept up in the current and I'm having a small wedding-wedding now :P

Have you been lurking for a while, or did you just show up? I just showed up. I was like "oh i have a bazillion questions and I can ask them here" and just started!

How has wedding planning been for you? Fun but stressful. I have no big "dreams" of what I want so that's good but it seems like a lot of other people have ideas of what I should be doing which gets aggravating. And we're paying for it ourselves which is of course, a little scary!

Mandy wants to know if you like pizza? I could seriously eat it every day forever.

Alix wants to know if you like vampires, and which ones? Damon & Stephan (please tell me someone else watches Vampire Diaries???) I was team Damon from day 1... those eyes!!! Oh and I'm team Jacob too if you wanna talk about that other vampire series :P

I'm allergic to them both. Luckily they're cute :P

His dad is a pediatrician and moved to New York from Cairo to practice medicine. His mom's family fled Cuba to New York when she was in high school. FMIL was previously married and had a daughter, for whom FFIL was the pediatrician. So it's sort of unusual, sort of cute, and sort of questionable medical ethics.

Hey there. How are you? I'm pretty well! Bored at work, so I figured I would come out of lurkerdom to play today!

How goes it? Tell us about yourself. Well, I just turned 25. I'm an animal lover, an avid reader and I love sports, like a lot.

Are you engaged? Married for going on 6 months now How'd your FI ask? (short story please) We were at our favorite dive bar having a few drinks after work. We got home and, as we were walking in through the garage, DH grabbed my arm, turned me around and pulled me in for a kiss. He asked if I would marry him. I didn't really think anything of it and was like "duh!" He walked to his tool box, pulled out a box, showed me the ring and said "will you?" I said yes and started to tear up.

Have you been lurking for a while, or did you just show up? I lurked awhile back, went over to the Nest after the wedding, and just decided to venture on over here and decided to start posting, so I'm glad this thread was here!

How has wedding planning been for you? I'm so glad it's over with!

Are you engaged? How'd your FI ask? (short story please) Engaged since 12/24/10, D surprised me with a trip to NYC (where I used to live) from Maine (where we currently live) and took me to Hangawi, a vegan Korean restaurant where we had our first date. I am vegetarian, and he picked it for our first date because he wanted to impress be with his vegan-savvyness.

Have you been lurking for a while, or did you just show up? Lurked for a little bit, now I talk when I have something to contribute.

How has wedding planning been for you? Have been ready to elope since almost day 1.

Mandy wants to know if you like pizza? Love it, especially now that Passover is over, I am ready to consume large amounts. D and I are into making our own pizza, either with store-bought dough or homemade dough, it's yummy (and the pizza near us isn't so awesome). Sometimes we do sauce/cheese/veggies (yay mushrooms) and sometimes we make it fancy with brie and apple.

Alix wants to know if you like vampires, and which ones? I am secretly worried if I watch anything about vampires I'll have nightmares, like when I was little.

How'd your FI ask? He scared the crap out of me by sneaking up on me while I was rummaging through the coat closet. He looked terrified, and just stood there with the box. He finally asked, but he was so scared he mumbled through it. It was cute.

How goes it? Tell us about yourself.
I am getting married in 10 days. That is very soon. I'm an Oceanographer fresh out of grad school, and just moved from Connecticut to Louisiana for a postdoc position. Still adjusting to the south and its humidity. I love sweet potato fries.

Are you engaged? How'd your FI ask? (short story please)
Yes, and he proposed on the beach in Hawaii (I know).

Have you been lurking for a while, or did you just show up?

How has wedding planning been for you?
Mostly I love it, except the days where I get overwhelmed by details.

Mandy wants to know if you like pizza?
I LOVE pizza. Especially with eggplant, or else BBQ chicken. We do homemade pizza Fridays in our house.

Alix wants to know if you like vampires, and which ones?
Eh, Twilight books were a guilty pleasure, but couldn't deal with the movies. Which made me a little sad.
