Good Morning!

Re: Good Morning!

  • Ah no, not that! Just that she told you that you were the only candidate and then messed around in your current job. The first of which was a lie and the second of which was totally not ok.
  • Good morning!

LVB, your recruiter sounds like a douchebag.

I can't wait to get out of this office for the week.

  • Oh, my recruiter has nothing to do with this other job. It was a random HR admin who called me about this last interview. I guess she was misinformed. But please, continue to hate her. I do.

  • Luckily we don't have anyone in the family that is a present ruiner (is that a word?). I've been able to give some pretty awesome gifts in the past and no one knew what they were getting.

LVB I'm still holding out hope that you're the top and best candidate for that job.

  • Aw, LVB that sucks about the gift and the job :(

My H's grandmother almost ruined his proposal, haha.  I was over at the IL's house and they called her on speaker phone.   Just as Tommy was getting on the phone, my dad called my cell.  Literally, as I was stepping out the door to answer she apparently said really loudly, "So I heard you bought a ring!!!"  They all freaked out and thought I heard, but I guess I shut the door just in time.

  • Thanks so much for all the support, ladies.

Present ruiners can go eff themselves. You know what else can go eff itself? Possible arthritis. ;(

  • I have a big cut on my face from my damn cat. She got into the basement yesterday and when I picked her up to return her to the heating portion of the house she went batcat crazy and got me face. I hope I don't get cat scratch fever.

  • Cat scratch fever would be the least of your problems Rosie! ;) lol

Doggy just arrived!  She freaked out when her family left, but she's currently laying on my feet, so I guess she's over it.

LVB, that's so crazy.  I'm sorry. :(  We should have a bottle (or twenty) of wine on Skypey. :)

    Ditto Fezz, ouch Rosie!

I hear ya LVB. I was decorating ginger bread cookies the other night and it sucked squeezing the icing tube. I know i have carpal tunnel, but sometimes I think it's more than just that and is probably arthritis.

  • Yes to the wine!!!

I feel like they're dead this morning. Like it almost hurts, but instead it's kinda...frozen.

  • So my coworker called in today.  To go Christmas shopping.  So I get stuck with her shitty assignment.  She did this last year, except last year I came in on my day off to cover her.  Not happy.  Not happy at all.

  • Morning ladies!

I really don't know what H is getting me even though I have given him some ideas. There isn't a lot that I wanted or needed, I will just be happy to spend our first Christmas together with each other.

Stacks, that is just so terrible. And we travel right through there when we are driving home. That poor family. My T&P are with them.

Yeah, some mornings it's hard to uncurl them or extend my fingers out all the way. It's definitely worse now that it's colder out. They just get so stiff so easy.

  • Morning. I'm ready for this day to be over. I think I've just been around people in my office too much lately, so I'm ready for the break. I'm a little bitter about how my department was pretty much the only department who didn't get to leave early for a happy hour "holiday gathering." I always assumed we were part of the creative department (who had theirs yesterday) and I was told precisely no we were not invited. Whatever. I'm more upset about the principle of the thing. It's like my department are the step-children of the company or something.

I'm not sure what I'm excited about in terms of presents. I guess I"m most excited to find out what my aunt got me, because she found something on QVC for me and my siblings and it's "awesome." I know most of my other gifts. FI and I aren't exchanging gifts this year. It wasn't in the funds.
  • Do they kinda warm up through the day?

I'm worried this is an attack and that I'm not going to be very functional cooking for everyone on Friday. I'm paranoid because my mom (not biological) has reumetoid arthritis. Every time I complain about, she and my dad are both like...oh that sounds like when I had my attack.

  • I'm anti present spoilers too. H doesn't ever want to get me something he doesn't know  I want. I've wanted a basset hound FOREVER and he sent me a link the other day of one on Petfinder and said that it was my Christmas present - then I called the shelter and the dog is gone. Sad day. I wouldn't adopt a dog just based on breed anyway (gotta make sure they've got an awesome personality), but everything I had read about this dog, I thought I was going to love him. Oh well.

This morning H said "So what do you want for Christmas? Want to wait on another basset?" I told him I didn't really know and then he said "I'm not going out to buy you a last minute christmas present to go under the tree"...*sigh.* He's very not festive. His mom and dad split up around the holidays one year and it seems to bug him.

I love the effing holidays. I love Christmas shopping. I can't seem to get him in the spirit and it's bothering me.
  • LDY, FI bought me a gift certificate to the humane society for my birthday two years ago. That's always an idea! :)
  • Birdie, I've never heard of that!! I'll have to bring that up to H - I wonder if they do something like that around here. Good idea!
  • Yup they really push that here for people wanting to adopt animals as gifts. He surprised me with it, but we were able to go together to pick out Oz. :)
  • I'm here. It's 9:30 and I'm already bored stiff.

  • Mornin'.  I'm back at work cause there is work to be done, but I still have a sore throat :(.

That story stacks posted is quite possibly the saddest thing I have ever read.

And I know my present from FI because I went to the store and bought it myself (totally lame, I know), but he doesn't know his.  We bought FI's dad and stepmom a Wii (mostly for them to stream Netflix, but a little bit for them to play games too).  We had been discussing it with them a while back, but I guess FI's stepmom never expected to be given it as a gift because she started crying about it being so generous and what not.

It's 8:48 here...I got to work at 8. I haven't done ANYTHING but read one e-mail since I've been here. There's nothing to do. My boss isn't here. I'm totally tempted to fall asleep.

I had to buy my own present from H last year. It's not fun! I would love it if he would just go get something instead of making me pick.

That's SUPER generous of y'all to get them a Wii! Older people seem to love the Wii - I guess the controls are easier.
  • LVB, I think you mean Lou Gehrig disease, not Lou Gherkin... cause, uh, that's a pickle ;)  hehe

Stacks, that is the saddest thing, geez.  And totally complicated, because... the kids in the car were the... aunts and uncles of the kids who were killed?

I'm not feeling work at all today, not like that's unusual.  I wanted to buy a breakfast burrito and the lady who sells them didn't come today... boo :(

HA! I totally didn't notice that. Must be LVB's pregnancy brain... ;-)
  • Yeah they just announced another department who gets to leave for their "holiday gathering." I"m officially mentally checking out until the 29th.
