Lyndie beth... I know what you mean about not wearing glasses that often. I never wear mine unless it is very windy or my eyes are bothering me. I hate it because I lose my periphery and have to turn my head around alot more. It gives me headaches everytime I wear them. The only way the headache goes away is if I wear them for a couple days

I'm watching Zeffirelli's "Romeo and Juliet" and it almost makes me want to be an English teacher or at least back in freshman English again.  Almost.....I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired.  I'm going to have to find a sleep study for Bill.  Last night I heard him stop breathing a couple of times and I was sitting in the living room.  I would get ear plugs but I have slept through fire alarms and tornado sirens so that's not necessarily the best idea.  The sleep machine helps some but not if I have to get up in the middle of the night.  Going back to sleep is nearly impossible.  Sally has early stages of hyperthyroid.  My options for her are surgery, medicine (that will only control it), or radioactive iodine.  Right now, we've decided to do the iodine but that means she has to be away from us for a week.  I cried last week over leaving Socks for a couple of hours at the vet.  I can't imagine what a week without Sally will be like.

We had the inspection for our soon to be home on Sunday and there wasn't anything major wrong with the house. We took the advice of both the inspector and realtor and asked for 4 things to be fixed, well I just got a call from our realtor and the seller has agreed to have those things fixed. I'm so excited!!!

Jeff and I did this exact same bike ride in SF last year and it was amazing! We were sore for days because of the hills, but once you're on that bridge looking over the water, all the pain goes away. It was truly one of the most amazing things I've ever done. Julie - Jeff went through this and now has a C-Pap. I'd never sleep because of the snoring and because I was scared he'd stop breathing too long. Lincare is the company we went through to get his machine, but he did have to spend 2 nights doing a "sleep study." He feels so much better thanks to his machine and I sleep better too. He did his sleep study in Houston, but I highly recommend gettting info on it and sending him to do it. It was the best thing Jeff did. Now I want to go back to Sausalito.

I wonder how poor you have to be to get enough "Bailout" money to pay for college.  My brother has nothing and barely got enough money to pay for a semester.  He's 27 and it's time.

Alyssa - I also know how you feel.  We moved here last August, and even though I like it and plan to stick around for a while, I haven't made any close friends.  I have some friends at work - but the most we do is go out to lunch together.  I hang out with DH's friends from school, who are very nice and I enjoy hanging out with most of them.  But it just doesn't compare to life when I lived near my college friends.  Whether it's the people I've met or my own social skills, I just can't seem to mesh with people like I do with my college friends.

I've started distancing myself from my mom.  I just can't handle her drama and how she makes everything an attack on her.  She needs major counseling, but won't do anything about it.

I wish the photogs that I stalk would update their blog! It's going to be a looong day...I've been myself most of today and now it's just me and a student assistant and he'll be leaving at 3.

Ditto Mariah.  When every family member's response to anything mom does is "Well, you know her..." it just makes me fed up.  I'm the only one who has tried to challenge the notion that how she acts is ok, and it's caused major problems for Jordan and me.  If no one else is going to try to effect change, then I'm giving up.

I want to slap some sense into a co-worker of mine that is the same age.  She constantly complains she has no money and that our salary cut is making it worse and that she has been looking for another job.  Yet she eats out for lunch every day of the week, her dog just had puppies and she says getting their first round of shots costs $100 each (that's $500, not to mention she has 7 animals in a 700 sq ft apartment!), and says that she wants to move to Addison after her current lease expires in 2 months, yet she can barely afford to live in her current apartment!Get a clue already!

OMG, yes!  The sad thing is, is that my sister and my dad and I know she needs help and we tell her all the time that she needs a hobby and that she needs to talk to someone about her insecurities...she says she'll do something about it and then never does.

I have a couple of friends whose moms are pieces of work.  Whenever I think my mom is going over the edge, I think about their moms and my mom looks surprisingly normal.
