  • 1) No....I do it too 2) Fit into an 8 3) Gay rights are all well and good but it souldn't be forced upon a church. I do believe they should be able to have all the same rights as any other couple as far as the gov goes. 4) Yes, you'll feel good once it's cleaned....or at least that's how I feel when I do it.
  • But isn't it the churches forcing the government to keep anti-gay laws?

  • I really want to see Milk as well. It was interesting that Sean Penn was cast in that movie, but apparently he did an amazing job! One day, I am going to grow a pair and tell DH's family how I feel about the topic. One day. Definitely before we have children!

  • That's a good quote ricks, very true.
  • There should be total sep of church and state. I don't see why the church cares as long as no one is forcing them to do anything they don't want to.
  • I loved how they wove actual footage into the movie. It was incredibly sad, though.

  • My favorite quote about church vs. state has to be "The last time people mixed church and state people got burned at the stake."

  • Why are you against K2? No flames here.
    image
  • KA - Why are you against? I'm genuinely curious.

  • for religious reasons - although I have friends that are gay - and I love them, I do not agree with their lifestyles and they know that. I believe that marriage was ordained by God, and is not a human institution and as such He/the Bible have the final say on what a marriage is and isn't. I know many of you will disagree and flame away but my opinion and my beliefs
  • 1) Do you judge me for drinking wine at 2 pm?Not at all. If it were sunnier here, I'd be out by the pool drinking.2) Name one thing you could do at 22 that you can't do now.Drink legally? :)3) Gay Rights (including marriage), for, against, or undecided and why? For. Who am I to say who you can/should love?4) Should I clean the house?Cleanliness is overrated.
  • 1) Do you judge me for drinking wine at 2 pm? not my thing, but nah I dont judge2) Name one thing you could do at 22 that you can't do now. I am 22 soo..3) Gay Rights (including marriage), for, against, or undecided and why? For- people are people. People continuously chant that we are for equal rights, yet we constantly leave this one out. the UN delcartion of human rights, created over 60 years ago stressed several human rights (including the right to marry and have a family), with out descrimination, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, etc.... hmm... yeah sorry this one bothers me. 4) Should I clean the house? eh maybe.. might make you feel better in the morning to a clean out !

  • @ yuodelj - on separation of church and state - where does marriage fall - under jurisdiction of the church or the state? Because by my definition, it would fall under the church y'know?
  • I never said it should be called marriage....
  • Marriage falls under the church and the state.
    image
  • so should be called a union?if it falls under both then technically we cannot separate the church and the state.
  • KA - Fair enough. DH has similar views on the topic. I just think that it is up to God to judge/have the final say, as you said, and therefore we as people should not judge others. Who are we to judge, ya know?

  • Call them life partners.....
  • It should be called a marriage.

  • Fisch: I know many homosexual couples who have MUCH better relationships than some heterosexual couples. It just all pisses me right off.^^^ThisMy aunt and her wife have been together for over 30 years and I'm sure have a better, stronger relationship than many of my hard core Catholic family members.
  • Marriage is a legal union. If the church doesn't like that then they can refuse to marry people. But in the long run a marriage is a legal union.
