  • ANDALSOAGAIN?

Why the HELL did you come here asking for advice if you already know what you're giong to do and you're not willing to to hear ANYTHING anyone says to you?  This is NOT the validation board.  This is an AWESOME place to get honest, real advice.  It's too damn bad you're so convinced you're doing everything right and none of this could possibly have ANYTHING to do with anything you've done or said to listen to the VERY GOOD advice and perspective that was presented.

Just because it wasn't wrapped with a pretty bow doesn't make it any less awesome.

Now I'll step off my soapbox.

I see it. And I like it.
  • And this is a side note, but when did "dilemma" become the more widely accepted spelling (over "dilemna")?  Google is not being helpful to me on this one, and it always drives me nuts.

    Also, stop being so COCKY!
  • I say y'all.

And I'm not being cocky, OR ripping on the OP.  Promise.  Google told me that dilemma is now the more accepted spelling, and it's the one I see most commonly.  I'm just wondering when that changed, or if I'm the only one that learned to spell it with the n.

I didn't know dilemna was a variant of dilemma. I looked in the Merriam Webster dictionary and dilemna wasn't in it, so it must have left the English language a while ago.

  • The best possible outcome to OP's mental issues is the following:

MOH gets pregnant by Le Douche and pops out the love child right at the altar.  OP regrets making the "sensible" choice and pouts in the corner, since MOH stole her thunder.  Later that night, she goes home and opens gifts with her FI, cursing he wretched MOH, only to find that MOH thoughtfully wrapped up both an etiquette book and an ESL workbook for her.
  • Also, I have never encountered "dilemna" in my life.
  • I will take a dilemna over delema or dilema any day. There are so many 'daily usage' words that people don't spell correctly and I don't understand how/why...rediculous? definately?

I think dilema is better than dilemna.  Why the "n"?  Is it supposed to be a random silent "n"? At least dilema is phonetic.
