Re: Let's DOOO somethin'...

  • lpstl - He's one of the Bell Beavers.  It was an awesome advertising campaign here in Canada.  I have NO idea anymore why I went looking for a picture of a beaver for my signature, however.I think it's because people were tired of cats and dogs so I figured I'd try a furry beaver. :)

  • Will do tonight when I have access to my personal email. Most everything other than east of Edmonton is a blur to me - lol.  I don't get out much in my own neck of the woods.
  • Whew, ok. It's almost 5:00 on Friday and I'm obviously not with it at all.

  • TiDa lives somewhat near where my hometown is. She's about halfway between me and JensI could, if I chose to drive that way, drive right past her on my way to my hometown.  But I don't because I prefer the other highway.I'm kinda sad I didn't get to meet Nebb when I was in Ontario.

  • Mandy, I don't know you well enough to know if all your comments about my diet are flat-out mean or if it's some kind of joke. Maybe I didn't phrase something right at one time. The point is, I have dietary restrictions. One of them is meat of any kind. Which makes me a vegetarian. When my fiance and I got an apartment it was HIS idea to not have meat in the house, even though he eats it at restaurants, at work, and at other people's houses. He'll go to a restaurant and order a meat platter with extra sausage, but at home, we love to eat meals together. Which is annoying if you have to cook 2 separate meals. It helps that he's not a picky eater and he'll eat fake chicken and stuff. I can't remember the last time I had someone bring food over, and half my friends are vegetarians anyway. If someone who didn't know came over and brought cocktail weenies, I would graciously accept, of course. Inside, I'd be a little miffed because our cookware is all new (well, it was when we moved in) and has never touched meat. But I can't judge someone if they simply don't know.To be fair, other things we don't keep in our house include beets, mint and fennel. I love fennel, but the fiance hates it, so I go on with my fennel-less existance in the house. I also have a hard time eating walnuts, eggplant and pineapple, which give me mild reactions. Basically, out of respect for me, my FI eats no meat at home. His choice. End of story. Seriously, I don't REALLY like to talk about my diet much, even though I've mentioned it on here once or twice.

  • From what I can tell - there isn't a whole lotta difference between the US and Canada, except Canada  has less crime and more health insurance.  Also more Nebb, Alix, Wading, P2 among others... But what are some of the other differences?  Is there Canadian cuisine?  I know there's a French influence, but enlighten me.
  • Colleen doesn't say aboot. But Scott's family does. They are Manitobans. They have funny accents.
