• What if we had a shoutout thread? Similar to the callouts, but not as crazy. And the shoutouts could potentially be positive, so it's not like a flame fest. Rules which actually apply, no personal attacks, etc. Maybe? Stupid idea?

  • I think you're onto something MILF.

    Shoutouts can be funny too.

  • I don't care to hear about everything you do in the day.  I don't care when you brushed your teeth this morning, who left what backpack in what room, or any of the other mundane crap that people have been posting just to post about something.  That stuff just does not liven up the board.

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. Because trust me when I tell you honey, they're gonna need it. ~jcaruncho2010

  • Sorry, anysunrise. It sounds like you're really in a fast food wasteland. Just remember, the amount of Taco Bell you eat directly correlates to the amount of diarrhea you have. So enjoy not having diarrhea. ;)

MIAF, I like the sound of that. Though it seems right now that what people want is an opportunity to air their grievances. Like Festivus. I wouldn't mind a shout-out thread, though who knows how personally people will take things, and that's when you run into trouble.

It's never actually caused any issues for me. I must have a steel-lined digestive system or something.

I agree, a shout-out thread might liven things up a bit, but I'd like to hear more. Would it be stricktly Knot related, board specific, anything goes or what?

I vote for MILF. And I'd like to hear some controversial stuff. Not just the same old picking on the less popular regs or newbs.
  • I think it would need to be Knot-specific, otherwise it would just turn into another I Judge-type thread.

  • I think it could deal with on the board type stuff. Personal complaints can be aired out in vent threads. Is everyone on board (no pun intended) with this?

  • Why are we making all these rules? Obviously personal appearance is always off limits, but say what you want. If you hate the thread, stay out.

I also think it is silly not expect people to want to defend themselves, so the concept of 'flame free' doesn't work for me. But, that is just me.

Yes. This would be necessary because I really don't give two fuucks about who parked their shopping cart too close to your car at the grocery store last week.

I agree with this. I wouldn't say anything about looks, but if I want to talk trash about you, why not?
In Response to Re: I gotta say it : Ooh, this. I'm not around a ton, but I do wonder what all the hype is about. Like yesterday, he was a little judgy about my MH thread, but when I clarified, he said he "didn't even know what the thread was about." It was kind of... slippery and non-committal. Like dude, just say what you want to say, I love a good debate. :) We're all adults here.
    Posted by beatlesgirl25
The point of my post was to point out the fact that every time someone mis-uses one of the reserved words related to MH, someone ends up jumping all over them instead of simply correcting them and the thread escalates into a bunch of endless drama instead of the OP actually getting useful advice or the person who mis-used a MH-related word getting the point.  Not sure what you expected me to be committing to.
