Morning!

Happy Monday! Today is moving day for us, the movers should be here in about an hour to come pack up our house. I'm super stressed, I always get this way when we move, and I'm just trying to breathe and stay calm. I guess I should be thankful that we don't have to pack & move all of this stuff ourselves, right?

Re: Morning!

  • Morning, my goodreads winner :)

I'm back at work after a glorious week off, and I'm being punished for my stupid decision to stay up til midnight to catch Falling Skies. I had a great vacation though and wish I was still in NC.

My uncle's wedding was great, and I also learned a couple interesting tidbits about my wedding while preparing for his. One, that my mom about had a nervous breakdown the morning of my wedding so my dad (they are divorced, which is why this is weird) took her around the side of the house and gave her a couple shots of rum to calm her down. So unlike both of them. Two, that one of our guests (not a family member, but mom couldn't remember much else) yelled at the woman helping with our food because she wouldn't let him eat before serving time. So my mom got in his face and he backed down.

Man, I wish I knew who that was.
  • My close friend's H is a Naval officer and I am quite jealous of the fact that they have packers and movers who do most of the work for them. However, I think I might be a bit too controlling to allow them to handle all my stuff.

I am taking mom to the airport soon and then I am headed in for another busy week of work. It was great having her here but I am ready for a return to normalcy. Unfortunately, FH is still on nights this week so I will barely get to see him. I am already looking forward to Friday.

  • Morning! I have a busy day ahead of me. I have to do a group with some of the kids at work because they can't handle being without school for 2 weeks. After that, I meet with the loss specialist and then have another family I see.

We got some bad news on Friday, Sasha has liver cancer :(  I brought her to the vet because she had diarrhea and stopped eating. I think the diarrhea has nothing to do with the cancer, they just found some masses on her liver while doing the ultrasound. H is in denial. She seems to be feeling a little better and got her to eat some eggs and chopped meat yesterday.

Mehg, good luck with the move.

Sesh, we found out about some crazy wedding antics (actually a lot) the next morning. Luckily we didn't know about any of it while it was going on.

  • I'm sorry about Sasha, denise. Can it be treated with meds?
  • good morning and happy monday!

Mehg, good luck with the move!
denise, sorry about sasha, hugs to you!

I'm working from home today. I have two dr's appts today, and I'm crazy excited. We finally get to see what's going on with little Rambo. We didn't do the NT scan, so we haven't been able to see the baby since it was just a little blob. Now it'll actually look like a baby, and we'll hopefully get to see that everything is developing as it should.

  • The stomach issue they are. They gave her some antibiotics which seems to be working for the stomach issues. As far as the cancer goes, she is 13 and anything would be too invasive for her.

  • That sucks, denise. That's kind of where we are with Whisky too. He's old and there's nothing we can do anymore. I'm still letting myself be in denial though.

We are getting some crazy rain today. It has rained pretty much nonstop since about 2pm yesterday afternoon. It reained about 22 days straight after Beryl came through, had a little break, and now we're getting soaked again. You'd think it was the apocolypse from the way the guy next to me keeps commenting on it.

Im going out of my fucking mind. OUT OF MY FUCKING MIND.

Ive been awake since 7:10 and not one minute since Ive been awake have I not been aware of how god damn itchy I am. I got a mosquito bite on my right foot and my left arm lastnight and theyre itchy, but I have another bite (which I suspect due to size is NOT a mosquitos doing) on my other foot that I kept scratching at aimlessly lastnight without really looking at or thinking I even had a bite. Its fucking huge and its going to ruin my life.

I want to die. I want to fucking cut off my feet to make this stop. all I can feel are these bites and I want to die.

Morning guys! I'm at the dc airport getting ready to fly home. I can't wait for this weekend to be over! Today is my one year anniversary. I'll be celebrating with the puppies and a cupcake. I hope the bakery in town has a wedding cake cupcake. Mehg- good luck with the move! Is you'd husband home? Can he stay while you leave the house for a bit? That's what I did when our house was packed. Edit: Denise- that must be really hard. :-( Dmills and DJ- good luck today And excuse my iPad typing

  • Good morning!

    Sorry about Sasha, Denise =(.
Good luck at your appointments Dmills and DJ!

We got our new car this weekend and everything went extremely well!  H was so happy and excited about it.  Thank goodness because man I am tired of car shopping!

It poured all day yesterday and and all night last night.  I didn't get much sleep because of it so today is probably going to be a very long day.  It's supposed to rain all day today and tomorrow as well but so far it's been pretty tame.

    Have a great day, ladies!

  • Nebb - do you have any baking soda? If I'm out of hydrocortisone/itch cream, I'll make a paste of baking soda & water and that helps soothe the bites. I hope you feel better! Mosquitos and other bitey bugs are the bane of my existence. I loathe being itchy.

LHT - yep, he's home, but he had to go in to work this morning to receive his departing award from his CO. He's getting an Achievement Medal (I got one, too Cool ). He should be home by mid-morning. We don't have a lot of stuff, about 4,000lbs, if that, so I'm hoping it doesn't take them all day. When I moved here from Kodiak out of my little studio apartment, I had less than 1,000lbs and it took three guys about an hour to pack my stuff up and load it all onto the truck.

  • Morning! Mehg, good luck today. Denise, I'm sorry to hear about Sasha Nebb, bug bites are the worst. Get some calamine lotion! It helps for me I am getting ready and then headed to the courthouse. We got all of our paperwork signed so we are officially going to apply for our marriage license. I'm excited about that.

Shay, I was going to see if you were still in Jax when I got home Saturday but was exhausted from traveling. So next time you're in town, let me know!

I dread the day we move. We have so much crap and I really, really don't want to pack/move it all.

That was probably one of my most favorite parts of the getting-married process. I think that was right around the time that it started to feel 'real', you know? I kept thinking, "Wow, this is really happening" and got a giddy about it.

</div><div>I was going to text you but didn't because I didn't know when you were getting back and figured you'd want some relaxation time after being gone lol.  We ended up leaving around 3 because we had to be back for a graduation party here.  I'll let you know when we plan on coming up again though, this weekend was kind of spontaneous ha.</div>

We moved to this house at the end of September, and we still have 6 or 7 boxes we left packed because we knew we'd just be moving again this summer. It was mostly stuff that rarely got used, like winter clothes and such.

  • I didn't get back until around 4:30, shay, so we missed each other anyway.

I think we'll end up getting rid of a lot of stuff if/when we ever move. I want to hold a garage sale sometime this year. We also made a deal that any time we bring home something new, we have to get rid of at least 1 old thing. It's helping a bit.
  • I took about three large bags of stuff to Goodwill, and trashed a bunch H's and my old magazines last week. It felt good to purge all of that crap. Now, if only I could get my H to chuck out 1 old black t-shirt for every new one he buys, that would be awesome. The man has about 300 black t-shirts, I shhiit you not. I feel bad asking him to chuck them out, though, because they're mostly from concerts he's gone to or training stuff from his dad/work unit.

I havenothing for bites and cant afford to get anything. I had to dip into our savings this weekend for some expenses and its starting to cut into what we have to spend on vin on thursday (ie, over 800$) so I cant keep taking out.

God damn I wish "im itchy" was a legitemate reason to miss work, but im already off friday, and leaving early wednesday and thursday for the dog.
  • Morning.

Nebb, I have mosquito bites on my feet right now too, they are seriously the worst.

I'm determined that this week is going to be good and productive, but in my head I'm already planning our beach trip next week.
  • Is Vin OK?

We just spent 950 on Sasha last week. It is crazy how much they charge at the vet's office.

  • Nebb, do you have any clorox?  Sounds terrible but dabbing it on bites will dry them out and stop the itchy.

You can also try making an X over the middle of the bite with your finger nail. I don't know if it's in my head, but that helps me too.
