My cousin ran into my sister at a toddler class the other day and she goes "SOoOO, is your sister EVER going to have a baby????"

My sister was horrified, but luckily she has my back and is quick with a great reply.  She shut her right the eff up.

ETA: I know I dont talk about her much, but my sister is like my BFF and she is the tits.  She is also one of my biggest cheerleaders with all this stuff.

[QUOTE]I made the big mistake of telling people before we were married that we wanted kids right away. I should have kept my damn mouth shut

<div>Yeah, I sort of predicted that a) we weren't going to start TTC until at least 2 years after marriage, hopefully it will be a year and a half but not holding my breath and b) that it isn't going to be an easy road (based on what I know about my medical history). So I prewarned close friends and family. They don't tend to ask too often. </div>
  • I am always burning my tongue on my coffee and that's after I've left it to cool for awhile. Ive taken to adding extra creamer to my coffee just to help cool it off. I add ice cubes to my tea. If I can't drink a coffee without burning my tongue, I sure as hell wouldn't put it between my legs. In a car. While I was driving.

  • I've got several:

I think it should be illegal to smoke in your own home if you have children or pets. Subjecting those who are unable to do anything about it, to your cancer causing behavior is unacceptable. Is it enforcable? Probably not.

I don't think we need to have 8923748972389473 different types of unhealthy food available at our every beck and call. I think capitalism is atrocious and just because it's legal to produce unhealthy food with no nutritional value doesn't mean you should.

I think healthcare should be overhauled. Our system is extremely broken and we're being exploited by pharmaceutical companies left and right. Is big government the answer? Maybe not, but regulation is imperative to creating a healthier future. Unfortunately we operate under capitalism and healthy people don't make big pharma any money.

Lastly, I don't like lobbyists, at all. I think it's absolutely ridiculous how many more lobbyists there are in congress than actual senators, representatives and staff. I'm sick of the profit over people model and don't agree that whoever has the most money should have the biggest voice.

[QUOTE]Am I the only one who lives somewhere that talking, texting and other distractions are illegal? Its like...a $200 fine if you are caught talking on your phone or being distracted around here. One of my insurance companies sent out a statistic that said texting and driving is four times more dangerous than drinking and driving.

It's like that here in Oregon. Bluetooth is the only thing allowed. And thank goodness. granted I'm the type who is afraid to look at the radio dials too long without driving badly. It scares me to death that people text! I refuse to let my fi do it.

And speaking of bad drivers, I had an old lady today almost drive me into a rail on an off ramp because she wanted in my lane. HELLO, I'm right next to you lady! And she had no good reason, because she had a long time before she finally turned, so there was no excuse. Her passenger finally saw me before she side-swiped me.
