saxy, I would have a hard time not punching him in the face for playing a DB on TV.  An amazing singer, but a DB.

  • I went to a Redsox game and watched it from the Green Monster! (see sig pic)

The experience of when my H came home from Iraq was pretty awesome.  Not only was I extremely happy but everyone around me was too.
  • Someone posted a link to "Touch Me" and I have been listening to Spring Awakening somewhat obsessively ever since. How awesome to see that cast!

Dodgers, that is so sweet. Where are you guys going?

[QUOTE]Ooh I got one.  I spent a summer in high school in the mountains of NC and TN fixing homes for people who couldn't afford repairs (not that I was particularly useful at the age of 15, or even now, lol).  We met the coolest people.  One lady was 90 and her husband had just left her.  At 90!  She was German and moved here to be with her husband and she had never worked.  Her home had no toilets.    We fixed her roof, painted, and cut firewood for the winter.  She was so kind and she was hilarious.  I wish I could remember her stories.  She made the best tea.  I couldn't believe people lived like that just an hour from my home.  It was a real eye opener.

There were sting rays and mantas on that trip, too.

We DID manage to avoid Carrot Top while we were in Vegas (my wedding was in the Luxor, where he's performing). Even though he used to room with a buddy of mine, and I could've used that, I had no desire to meet that freak of nature.

Uhh - I've met several Dolphin football players, past and - well past, now (i.e., Dan Marino, Pete Stoyanovich). Quite a few members of the 1972 no-loss season.

I've gone ATV riding in Moab, Utah. I've been to Hawaii and seen the huge waves on the North Shore and the Waimea Falls cliff divers; been to a PCC luau, laid out on the beach in Waikiki in January; visited Pearl Harbor and seen the mountain gap where the Japanese flew in to attack (I never realized it was an over land attack - I thought it was all over sea).

EDIT: Ive lost about 200-210 lbs since 2004 (most before 2007). And NOW my joints decide to fall apart.

In my teens, I worked with a drug rehab house for teens through my youth group. I was pretty sheltered growing up, and to meet people who's moms gave them alcohol and drugs at 10 and 12 years old was truly an eye-opener, especially when you're 16. My friend and I always went out there at Christmas with a big group gift - usually a big tin of popcorn - just to visit with them, because most never went home for the holiday.

I'd like to see an autopsy one day; the anatomy lab is downstairs and I could probably watch a dissection but that's different.

I love you Missy. Even though you are not smart enough to take online quizzes to find out really important information. ~cew
  • Katie, that's really cool that they came up and talked to you.

Raynes--that's so cool you got to sing on stage.

And I am jealous of all the Obama rally attendees and speakers.  That would be awesome.

I moved to London for 3 months, doing temp work and traveling as much as I could. Hardest (stressful) but most rewarding thing I've ever done. We rented an apartment in SW London and I worked as a receptionist so we could travel. We ended up going to France, Ireland, Czech Republic and Belgium.

I lived in India for six months, during which time I traveled to the farthest northern, western, and southern points of India. It was pretty awesome... I got to ride camels into the desert in Rajasthan, ride in the back of a rickety pickup truck up into a yoga ashram in the Himalayas, and got to see three seas converege in Kanyakumari. It changed my life.

I hated it there for part of the time, but now I really, really want to go back.
  • Oh, and I punched a guy who later got punched on 'House.' He deserved it for pretty much playing all of my friends and I at the same time. Slut.

I was there for a study abroad program and lived with a host family. While I was there, I interviewed Indian women about their lives and wrote a play about it. It was amazing.. I spoke with women from a Bollywood star to a servant to a high-powered businesswoman. It was so amazing.

I kept a blog when I was there, and an actress followed it and is thinking about pitching my play to a director she knows. I doubt anything will come of it, but it would be cool :)

It takes a couple drinks. And trust me, anyone in my situation would have punched him. And then seeing him get his face beat in on TV, even if it wasn't real, made me feel empowered all over again. :D

Sure! I'm going to check it quick to make sure my first and last names aren't on there, since they probably are right now. Be right back :)
  • Also a fun travel one, I lived in Kuwait from Aug 89 - Aug 90, was trapped in the US during Desert Storm (with no house, no jobs for parents, no car, no money), then went back Aug '91 when they opened the country back and lived there until '93 when we moved back to the States.
While in Kuwait I fell and need stiches. The doctor was Egyptian and while stitching me up asked if I would marry his son when we were old enough. Of course I said yes, I was 5 and he was poking my chin with a needle! I was bethrothed to an Egyptian guy at the age of 5. For a long long time I was terrified one day he would show up and be like "but you promised!"

  • Jas- I love "touch me" its just so...good! I want to see Spring Awakening badly
