Re: Evening

• Now that you mention that Muni, I think that is when mine keeps getting raised. I have one that has $12,500 limit from putting tuition and such on it before my loans came through. I really don't need it that high.
J, have you gotten it up close to the limit before?  I have a low limit card, and every time I run it up to close to the limit, they raise the limit about 100-250$.  It's up to about 2500 now thanks to venue payments.
Posted by MyUserName1
yeah, I put all my work gas on it and then pay  it out of my mileage checks, so I run it up to about $450 every 3 weeks or so.

• J&K, I wouldn't mind that job. I can stick stakes in the ground.
• I hate CCs. We had to get one though, to rebuild and perfect my credit score for a mortgage. I made a lot of bad choices in my early 20s, so the card I have now is a 500 limit with a 75 YEARLY FEE. we will only have this stupid thing for 9 months. Then it get cut up and cancelled.

• There is a lot of math and stuff in surveying & mapping. J had to take a class for engineering. He thought it was easy but he's a math genius, so there's that.
I can't wait for the day when I can start making more than the min payment on our CCs. Our debt is pretty bad, but we try to keep making regular payments at least, until we can eventually start paying them off when we get jobs. Ugh.
Posted by musicalsunlight
Have you considered consolidating in some way?  My H had a lot of CC debt from his year of rotations, and he got a loan at the bank for about 1/4 the interest rate of his cards, paid off the cards, and was able to make regular, equal payments on the loan.   He figured it out, and he paid them off about 30 months sooner than he would have if he had been paying on the cards, and paid about $4500 less total.

• That's weird that they still haven't raised it at all, J.

Nicki, that sucks.  Hopefully you'll be able to replace it with something less shiitty soon.
• Angel- Wow! That would have made me so mad! Good for you for taking her flat iron! ha!

• When I was racking up the CC debt, I never viewed it as buying things I didn't really need, but I realized (probably a little too late) that there are many things I can live without, even if they are "necessities."
• And I fixed Elliots hair. By fixed, I mean made the top shorter, and the back has layers. It's all business in the front, and a 90s FRIENDS party in the back!

That reminds me, I have a credit card I opened to rebuild my credit and it has a fee as well. I no longer need it and I keep forgetting to cancel it so I keep having to pay the fee. I just had to pay it the other day. I should call tomorrow to cancel.

• Evening all.  My H lost the cable to our printer.  And since I wrote all my papers in a bootleg version of MS word, I can't email them in format.  SO I'm going to spend the day tomorrow reformatting my paper so I can print it at work.  Hate.

Haha it was. I only said that because after I requested you, I couldn't find you again, even on other people's friends lists so I was like hmmm, perhaps she REALLY doesn't want to be my friend and she blocked me...

Glad to see that wasn't the case :)

• Barbie, I did get so much satisfaction from it. I ended up putting it back in her room, but I hid it so she'd have to find it. I was obviously very adult about the whole thing.

Bay, that sucks! Can you take it elsewhere to print, or is it on a desktop?
imageWedding Countdown Ticker
• See, H put me on his card, and we use it for everything, but never buy more than we can pay off in a month. We get the bank's reward program for free since we work there, so we just rack up points and exchange them for gift cards. Every 6 months or so, we get two grocery trips for free =)

I'm kind of glad I married such a financially sensible man, because I could totally see myself going overboard with a credit card. I refused to get one for that very reason.

Eek, Bay.  That sucks.
• Bay, can you save it to a flashdrive or something and print it elsewhere that way?

More like 1,000,000!

I can email it to myself and re-format it into Microsoft Word.  I had to use a bootleg copy because my "startup" copy of MSWord did not include the capacity for footnotes/endnotes.  Good times.

• Bay, I wish! But this is too hilarious, so its an accentuated mullet. We are going to get rid of it after June 2nd the next huge family gathering. He says he must look awesome for that. I swear, we are perfect for each other.

• J&K - surveying is SOOO boring anyway.  It's just geometry.  Plus, it's always cold or raining when you have to go do it anyway.

Bay - that just sounds like so much fun! (NOT!) Whenever we're sending out reports, I swear it takes a day to do all of the silly formatting and PDF-ing.  Then we have to sign them 10 different times, because we notice something wrong with the cover sheet.

• HOLY CRAP. The biggest bee I've ever seen in my life is flying around in the bathroom. It's literally 2 inches long. My mom was like, "Open the window and close the door." Um, yeah right am I going into the bathroom and closing the door so I can't escape if it attacks me. So I sent her in to deal with it. I didn't even know bees could be that big.

<div>Ok this is embarassing but one of my CCs is a transfer balance card from the balance i had on my crappy card, which has racked up again because of other emergencies since. <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-embarassed.gif" border="0" alt="Embarassed" title="Embarassed" /> Did he get just like a regular loan though? That would be enticing, I wonder if J and I could consolidate all of the cards onto a loan. </div>

Someone recommended LibreOffice, claiming the same thing.  That's what I used.  It CLAIMS it can format into MS Word, but it lied.

I'm going to download Open Office now.  Thanks!

</div><div>Haha I was wondering if you would pop in to say something. ALSO -- J is in a FEM class right now, which I think I told you before. Well anyway, his final was actually a final project that he had to do on Abaqus. He worked for like 200 hours total on it and he was SO proud of his final product. When working on it, he realized that finite element analysis is what he wants to specialize in for a living. He is so pumped about it. </div>
