KPS Sunday updates

I almost can't handle how much I love these!

I'm very interested by the "people who procreate are selfish" one.  Obviously I disagree, but do think that we should all do what we can to help orphans (and not forget there are orphans here in America) and to continue to educate women on birth control and give them as many options as possible.

    I agree with you, Penny, on that one.  I'm guessing that person doesn't realize how expensive and painful the adoption process can be.  I'm adopted so I completely encourage everyone to adopt, but it's ignorant to think it's as "easy" as having a child naturally.  Especially with foreign adoptions, they take years, lots of money, and then sometimes at the last minute something falls through and you don't get your child.  The whole adoption process is an emotional rollercoaster.

    I felt that way about this one too. Like it was saying posting on the knot was the sole reason her marriage was suffering, and that all of our marriages must be suffering because we post. I know it didn't say that, but that's the tone I got from it.

    And the one about her husband pushing her made me sad. They all make me sad, to varying degrees.

    If other peoples marriages made her marriage so bad, I dont think the knot had anything to do with it. Her own self esteem did.  Blaming the knot is just a cop out.

    I would sincerely hope that the PostSecret people wouldn't be bothered by it or want to shut it down or anything. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and I would think they, of all people, would get it and want us to continue with it.

    I don't think the founder of the regular PostSecret would care much or try to shut it down, there are lots of PS spinoff groups on Livejournal for different fandoms and such.

    On topic, shaking my damn head at the one ragging on adults who play video/computer games. Sad thing is I know A LOT of people who have this same opinion and it always kind of makes me mad.

    Yup!  My thoughts exactly nebb.  Although, she isn't necessarily blaming us.  She was comparing her marriage to others and made it feel like hers wasn't good enough.  Obviously it's because a lot of people have great relationships on here.  (well on the surface anyway)

    Im shaking my head at women on other boards on here criticising the secrets, saying stuff like they would hope if they had problems like this they would seek help rather than submit a secret, as though they are perfect or something. Seems way too self righteous to me.

    That is definitely an Emmy.  My FI and my cousin both have Emmys.  They aren't famous though.  My FI has one for technical remote (behind the scenes) and my cousin has one for being a news anchor.

    Either way though, an Emmy actually is an academy award.  Just a different academy.  See link.

    When I read the other boards the first day or two we had it up and they found it, that was definitely the impression I got. It's aggravating and it makes me sad, because it kind of ruins the spirit of the whole thing.
