  • No J&K! Ignorance is bliss.

  • Thanks, Allisong!  We appreciate being appreciated, because there's not always much to go around.

Jas, my best advice to you is to do your research on your facility.

I think so too. The counseling is usually done in a group setting, which H actually attends for himself. They end up just being a group of friends and go camping, etc. together, which is great because I doubt H or other vets would respond well to traditional counseling.

Go MSW, girl! You can do it!

  • Yeah, I can't imagine that any sort of therapy is at the top of many vets' to do lists.  Though, it should be.  Therapy is good.

  • Will do. Montana has a ridiculous mental health problem. Our veteran and Native American population is egregiously under-served. The only mental health center in my city closed this summer.

Kids- My daughter will be two in January.

We definitely want to have children asap... and if it were up to FI, (and me, most days) we'd already be KU. But, I don't handle stress overly well, so the stress of being KU, planning our wedding, and working... not a good combo. We'll start trying on our honeymoon though. He claims he wants our children to give him grey hair... he doesn't already want to have it. So yeah, I suppose age is influencing us somewhat, on his end. I've got plenty of time.

    Me - 42
    J - 43 - hah! But, I'll be there in another 4 months.

Kids - Max, the coconut headed, 65 pound wonder dachshund. He's a year old. He was about 3 months when we got him at the end of December.

As far as kids/age goes, we're probably too old for kids. And, we're a little bit selfish, insofar as we can pretty much pick up and go where ever we want for a vacation.
But.... that doesn't mean I don't like the thought of having a little one. I just spoil the nephew and the new one on the way.

I love you Missy. Even though you are not smart enough to take online quizzes to find out really important information. ~cew

We feel way too young for kids. We don't even plan on bringing it up for a good 5+ years.

[QUOTE]Just because it has come up a bit lately... You- FI/H/SO- Kids- Does you age have any bearing on your relationship at this point in time? For example, do you think you are too young for kids?

We don't have any kids yet, but we definitely want to try in 2011. We just think it's the right time.

  • Me: 45
    H: 60 (!)
    No kids.

I would not have participated in this poll a few days ago because I would have assumed it was a no-brainer that we were NOT doing kids at our age. Then, just last night we found out a 45 year old friend and her 70 year old husband are expecting in March! No fertility drugs, he has one kid (age 40!) and she has none - it "just happened". I would be one upset camper if it happened to me!

I always thought I would have kids by now. All of my good friends are moms already, so it is a little odd...but, I am happy how things are. I don't feel ready yet. Maybe in the next year or so. I want to be married for a little bit before kids enter the picture.

    Him-39
(We'll both be 40 in December)
Kids-FI has daughter from first marriage, she's 15.  We have 2 cats

Age doesn't really affect our relationship - in fact, it has been more of a plus.  We don't want to have kids - so no issue there either.
