Yeah, I don't mind her listing the prices (it might be helpful to budget brides) but the tone of the bio is the thing that gets to me as well. To me, the way she did it is like "I spent $25 on my dress while most of y'all stupid idiots spend thousands on your dress so y'all suck at life"."
    Posted by Champagne Supernova
Yeah, looking back, it's more the tone than the prices. I get that they could be helpful. Like other people said: she's spending too much time justifying how little she spent. In the process of justifying, she's coming off really judgy towards people who spent a little more.
OMG, not to sound like a total snobby bitch, but her bouquet/flowers.... omg omg omg. DIY does not have to equal ugly. I've seen plenty of lovely silk/cloth flower bouquets at weddings.

Sorry, but this does make you sound like a snobby bitch.

Its one thing to come down on her for her tone and attitude, its another to rip apart her bouquet and call it ugly. I dont think it needed the 3 "omg's" that you gave it.

  • When I see posts and bios like this, methinks thou dost protest too much.

I mean, come on. It's clear that she's pissed about her proposal/wedding but really wants to make sure that everybody knows how financially savvy and offbeat she is. Here are a few snippets for anyone less stalker-ish than me...

"I am so happy to sacrifice a reception hall and catered meal to be able to afford to share this day with everyone. This was a sacrifice that we made without batting an eye.

"Instead of wasting money and printing programs, I found instructions on how to turn an old mirror into a chalkboard for wedding introductions.

"They are just as beautiful as the picture, but they are clear glasses. We thought they were black until they arrived. Still beautiful and we're thrilled with them!

"So that is our wonderful engagement story. There's no huge diamond (although he did buy me a ring once. That's now our "official" engagement ring).

"it suits us perfectly and I would not have it any other way.
somehow, whenever I read this, I think that's exactly what they WOULD have.

Also, did anybody catch that children are "welcomed" from 5 to 8 PM but have to mysteriously disappear after 8 o'clock?

Yes. Very odd! I assume the alcohol isn't coming out until after 8? Otherwise you might have some drunk parents who have trouble getting their kids back home. Just let them be there the whole time or none of the time. If I were a parent and a guest at this wedding, I just wouldn't bother bringing my kids at all. Who wants to drive home in the middle of a party to drop their kids off? Maybe you could find a babysitter/relative to pick them up from the wedding, but that seems like it could just create issues.
  • I think the best part is that they are getting a 20x30 tent in case of rain, but the guest list is 200+. Better hope it doesn't rain, or it is going to be pretty crowded under that tent!

  • I'm with Poli. It's not a sacrifice if you do it without batting an eye. She claims she's sacrificing by not having a reception hall, yet states that she's always dreamed of having her reception in her parent's yard. Which one is it?
