Good Morning!

Re: Good Morning!

  • Welcome back Numbers.
Dmill, yay on canteloupe! I can't believe how far along all you pregglies are getting. It's so exciting! :)  What kind of car are you looking for?
AATB your dog is quite the character.  She's lucky she's cute.  Did your H ever say anything about the poop?

I'm here, but exhausted.  This is the second night in a row I haven't slept well.  Wedding details are overwhelming me right now and it's driving me insane.  I got to the point on Sunday that there's nothing more I can do until I get to our hometown on Thursday but I feel like I'm forgetting something or supposed to be doing something.  It's driving me crazy.  I just can't wait for it to be Saturday.
  • I loved Gilmore Girls!  I always liked Dean but Logan had that whole bad boy thing going on so he was hot too.

I've reached that point in wedding planning where I'm getting a bit stressed.  I had a little freak out on fiance last night that included everything from me not loosing as much weight as I wanted to before the wedding to getting mad at him for not helping with planning enough (as he was sitting home making our song list for our DJ).  Completely irrational spazasode but I feel better now ;)  Plus, our b parties are this weekend so that should help!  My friends are taking me to the ocean for two nights and I'm so excited!

[QUOTE]welcome back, Number! Good morning. Nothing too exciting going on here. I'm currently debating car shopping tonight or cleaning my house. I'm thinking cleaning is the safer option, but I kind of like the idea of browsing while Michael is out of town, so I can look and ask the questions I want to ask. The downside is I'm really impulsive when it comes to car shopping and I tend to just buy what I like. If Michael isn't with me, I wouldn't do that because we're most likely going to trade in his jeep IF we decide to buy something else. <strong>Trying to think about being family friendly is harder that I thought lol.</strong>

<div>Good to know, jcb!  I know everything will probably be fine, I'm just a worrier.

<div>dmills, to the bolded, yes, it is.  A guy H works with has an Equinox and told Chris to never ever ever buy that car because he hates it because he can't fit the baby, stroller, and groceries in the car at the same time.  So H came home panicking one day that my car (a very carefully researched and purchased vehicle) just won't work for a baby!!!!!!1!!!121 ZOMG!!!!1111!!1 So, next to fuel economy his priority for his car, was that it was big enough to fit the baby, a stroller, and groceries.  </div><div>
</div><div>I'm not going to lie, it was pretty fvcking adorable to see him all worked up about making sure there is room in the car for our non existent child.</div></div>

  • Morning all.  I haven't heard from my parents yet this morning, but last word was that they're under pre-evacuation (get your shiiit together and be ready to bug out) notice.  I think that if the fire threatens the main egress highway, the sherriffs will pull the trigger.

Had the neighbor across the street bring her dogs over and Peanut had a playdate.  She did so well.  They all ran around like maniacs, it was great!  I was afraid that she'd be trying to eat the faces off of them, but all was well.  Made me happy.

    Happy day all!
  • Yeah I told Ben that I left the poop for him on purpose. We had a good laugh. Geez my dog sucks. Shittting in the house, barking at black people. I'm gathering that huge thread from last night is about abortion? Might be a long day of reading. Damn work getting in the way lol.

  • Thanks Chels! At the moment my two front runners are Tahoe or Charger, but the last time I went car shopping, I had my mind made up on a new Malibu and on the way back into the lot from the test drive, I passed a shiny new Silverado and ended up buying that. So it's hard to say what we'll actually end up with.

Shay, Michael suggested that we wait until we have our car seat and more baby stuff, then take it to the dealership with us to test it out. My sister bought a Traverse about 6 weeks before she had my nephew thinking it had tons of room, and it does in the back, but getting him in and out of his car seat is a PITA. At the moment, I drive a Silverado, it's a 4 door but still I'm sure it won't be super easy to work with a carseat. Michael has a camaro and a Jeep wrangler. Both of those are pretty much a "never gonna happen" with getting a carseat in and out. We'll keep my truck for sure, Michael has the camaro in storage for baby Rambo when he/she turns 16, so it's likely that the jeep is a goner.

I know right? It's so surreal.
Stress stinks.  But your bparty this weekend sounds like a lot of fun! I hope you enjoy it!

Funny side story about Bparties.  Remember that girl "N" from several months ago that went off on me and was a total biotch?  The night of my bach party she and the other two girls bowed out of the night early as we were leaving a bar at midnight-ish (they stayed behind to finish their drinks and leave to go to the hotel and go to bed is what I was told).  I found out this weekend that what REALLY happend was N didn't want to leave that bar with us because she was flirting/dancing/getting all touchy feely with some guy and waiting for a free drink.  SHE'S MARRIED.  I guess the other two girls were trying to get her to leave by saying "Hey we're leaving" but she said she would stay even if they left because she really wanted to keep talking to that guy.  Obviously they didn't want to elave her alone in a bar with some sleazy guy tryingt o buy her drinks, so they stuck around her to make sure she didn't do something stupid.
  • AATB, the thread starts out with discussion of whether giving advice to divorce is a bad thing to do, then some talk about the Catholic church and annulments and "believing in divorce," and then somehow we get to abortions and whether giving someone the advice not to have an abortion is the different than refusing to advise someone to get a divorce.

We're going to eb searching for a truck for FI soon too. He really wants a silverado or a GMC Sierra.  We found a screaming deal on a silverado yesterday actually (2007 with 50k miles, and completely loaded for only $19K) but the guy had already sold it when FI called for more info.  Do you like your silverado?

And woah a camaro for a 16th bday present? Best bday present EVER.
  • Yikes, BK.  Still doing my rain dance for y'all.
  • ha Dmills, H has a Solstice right now.  It's a only a two seater.  That's definitely a no-go for a baby. My only "rules" for the new car was that it had to be a four door and it had to be an automatic (or automatic with auto stick).  There's no way I'm going to be trying to to manoeuvre things around with a two door car.  And I'm not learning how to drive a manual.  H tried teaching me and I swear if we did that again we'd be on the outs big time.

I'm pretty sure H would do the exact same thing with bringing all the kid stuff and testing the fit out before buying. ha ha I wonder how often dealers see that?

[QUOTE]Dmil, my H and I just took delivery of our jeep wrangler last week.  We are loving it! So far in that thread, all I've gotten is Chels and Brandi are naive (we get it).  Does it get more interesting than that?

Depends on whether you consider a regurgitation of the pro-life stance and a comparison of pro-choice people to slaveowners "interesting."

  • Morning- I am super crabby and tired today- the storms kept me up for hours last night.

Also, took the dog outside to pee this morning and the ffucking red-winged blackbird has started swooping at us again right outside our door. FCK if I am going to deal with this bullshit bird attacking us again this year.

The thread last night was pretty epic. That is all.
  • Good grief, if I hear the phrase "I don't believe in divorce" one more time I'm going to scream.  NOBODY "believes" in divorce.  It happens.  We are human, and make mistakes.  We marry too young, we marry the wrong person, we make errors in judgment.  Life is hard, and doesn't always turn out happily ever after.  It's not a matter of believing in a way out.  Schitt, I've been divorced, and I don't believe in it, and I didn't go into it the first time knowing I could get out somehow.

  • Chels, I love my Silverado! (knock on wood) I've not had any problems with it, and it honestly drives like a car. Just FYI if you look in late July and into August, you could very likely get a 2012 extended cab for not a whole lot more than what you are looking at for the 07. I'm a big fan of buying new ;)

jcb, giving up the wrangler will be hard, we LOVE it, but we really don't need 4 cars.

Thanks for the tip! That sounds amzaing!
  • Every time I hear someone say "I don't believe in divorce" it makes me think of the movie Hook; "I don't believe in fairies!"

Like those people don't actually think that divorce exists.

  • Good morning!

Today is my first day of semi-normal life, post-wedding. We are finally back in OH at our apartment. The ride home was eventful and I spent the first 2 hours of it convinced we were going to die. We had looked at the radar before we left and waited out a storm. Well we left after the first "round" and ended up driving straight through 2 hours of death-storm..no joke the heaviest rain I've ever experienced. Thankfully H has a great car with great wiper blades but there were still many, many times where we couldn't see anything. Only hydroplaned once (right next to a semi...AHH). We also got hit by a large hunk of some sort of debris so the side of the car is all scratched.

When we got home we saw a bunny by the car (well rabbit, it was big). We got a little closer because this thing wasn't moving, seemed really unafraid and when it finally ran away we realized it had 4 little babies under it!! We went out later to see if Momma came back andd she hadn't. We saw her across the road and got behind her and walked toward her to try to push her back toward babies but it didn't really work. I'll be so sad and feel horribly guilty if she doesn't go back :(

Cleaning and reorganizing today for me. And another phone interview this afternoon!

  • Good Morning!

I'm off to hell... I mean, to clean my sister's living room.  That'll probably take all day if I can even get it finished-ish at all.  My H volunteered to make dinner tonight since I'll likely be late.  Yay burgers!

Dudes, it's so frickin hot here.  They're saying 95F but they've undershot the temp the last few days and it's only 9am but the humidity is so oppressive.  Plus, no rain for days and days. Anyone want to trade weather?

[QUOTE]Morning, all. I was slightly cranky from being up all night. (Stupid insomnia picks the worst days at times, I tell ya.)  Now I'm super cranky from my boss being a total jerk this morning. We're swamped at work and he acts like he's the only one working hard.  I'm dealing with about 55 calls a day, staff members who are being incompetent, AND him.  I seriously almost burst into tears in his office this morning.  It's one thing to be yelled at (not literally) when you screw up, but it's another thing for him just to be cranky for no good reason.

Ive got to say it always sorta amazes me how chels comes back all nonchalant after making a giant asshat of herself, as if it never happened.
  • Nope.  No A/C.  Newer houses around here have it, but none of the older ones.  We have ceiling fans, and rely on cool night air (last night was in the mid 50s) to get the house back to a comfortable temp.  It helps that our bedroom is in the basement, which is always 10* cooler than upstairs.
