Tuesday Evening

Re: Tuesday Evening

  • I do like it for a 23 year-old.  a lot (:

And ditto the Goodwill.  I have a goodwill strategy wherein I only buy things that I can't afford new.  I've gotten some high end brands there.
  • And seriously, Target is awesome for basics. I got a ton of pencil skirts and cardigans there. And Zara really does have some very reasonably priced career stuff sometimes. And they started online shopping recently, although I'm sure they must have on in the Mall of America.

Oh, that makes sense I guess.  That means I'll never wear it, because I don't do lipstick.
In Response to Re: Tuesday Evening : Do you have any good outlets in the area? Outlets + Target + occasionally Zara were the best place for me to get work tops. And I would get some that were sleveless, I just wanted them to cover my whole shoulder, you know? So really just without sleeves, as opposed to 2-3 in straps on top. I don't know if that makes sense.
    Posted by RupertPenny
<div>Yeah that makes sense. I should look at TJ Maxx and Kohls. And Target too. If I can ever get out to MOA again soon, they have a Nordstrom Rack. But I have to have really low blood pressure for the day to even handle it in there.</div>

Speaking of capris...where do you guys get capris and shorts that are appropriate?  I can wear shorts to work, as long as they're appropriate (and I don't want them short as heck anyway), and I definitely want to because I'm going to be outside a lot, and really active, but I can't find any.
So for a 23 yr old you like it, MUNI? haha. I just like it as a cute skirt to wear out with friends or whatever. My closet is like only super casual and sweats, and then a few nice dress outfits. My closet sucks.
    Posted by musicalsunlight
<div>I'd wear it. And yeah, I had that problem before I started work, but I wanted to have nice clothes since I didn't have to wear a uniform anymore. NY&Co, TJ Maxx, and Target are where I've gotten a lot of mine. </div>

Huh.  Well.  I thought about trying it, but then the only salon that did it in my wedding town cost about 3x as much as the place we went to, so I said FUUUUCK THAT NOISE.

  • Ditto Goodwill or Value Village

My best find - a pair of Dior slacks, NWTs for $4.99

Ebay, Goodwill, Jr Women's League stores all have lots of Loft in them if you go often and shop hard. LOL

I think I've bought two shirts from Ann Taylor - my white button down and my cream button down. I love second hand stores.

  • I had airbrushed makeup for my wedding, and my eyebrows were fine.  The spray is very fine and precise, so the MUA can avoid the hairline.

OK, just kidding. The closest stores are in Chicago. It is an awesome store though. It's a Spanish brand and they have some nice but trendy stuff at lowish to medium price points.

  • Hello! I just got done watching TV and relaxing with FI, now he is internetting and so shall I.

MuSu, the vast majority of my work wardrobe is from JC Penny. It's not quite as cheap as Target or TJ Maxx, but they have a lot of variety and good quality stuff.

I hate the Nordstrom's rack at MOA. It's always a zoo in there, even if the mall is relatively calm.

  • I wonder which Goodwill around me would be the best to look. Is it stupid to assume that a Goodwill in a more affluent suburb will have a better selection? I live near a pretty "rich" suburb. There is a Goodwill there, I know that for sure.

  • Zara is awesome.
  • MuSu, I've had better luck with second-hand stores in more affluent suburbs. However, the Salvation Army here in Bloomington, which I would not consider an affluent suburb, has tons of crazy brand name stuff for super cheap. I saw a real Burberry bag there for $20. Insanity.

Right??? My aunt and soon-to-be step-mom wanted to go there the last time we went there- A SATURDAY. I was too scared to go look at anything and just stuck in the petite section with them because I thought we would be forever separated.

  • Hmmm, I wonder if we have JCrew or Banana outlets in Albertville.  MuSu, do you know?

I didn't know Old Navy's pants hated me until I bought the pair I'm wearing now. They're one size bigger than the last pair I bought, which are super, mega tight, but the ones I'm wearing now have a huge gap in the small of my back, which I've never had with any other pair of pants, ever.<div>
