Super early evening thread

Re: Super early evening thread

  • Spilling things on laptops in the worst. I spilled juice on my old laptop like 2 days after I got it.

  • Edie - how old is the macbook? My old roommate had one and dropped a glass of wine all over it one night and destroyed it (it also smelt really bad), she took it into the Apple store and explained what happened and they replaced it for her at no charge even though it wasnt covered in their warranty. Her laptop was relatively new though.

  • Oh God. One of my former coworkers just posted her 3D ultrasounds on Facebook, and they are creepy as hell.

  • Dlieni, that is adorable.

Sara, it probably is much more fun to watch in person. I think that way with most sporting events.  There is just a certain atmosphere that can't get carried through the TV with sports.  So let me clarify my statement, I don't get watching NASCAR on TV. Even if it is for the crashes, just watch an action movie.  Then (most likely) someone isn't in danger of actually getting hurt.

  • Jess - I was like that until I got my own place. I slowly started getting used to it and now I can't wait to get them off.

Our doorbell just rang and it scared the bejeezus out of me. But it was a wedding gift so all is well now.

  • Any - 3D ultrasounds are a bit creepy, I think I would prefer the regular ones - I dont think I'd ever pay the extra money to get 3D verions haha.

I am not a fan of nascar, especially on TV.

  • Hi!  Just catching up.  I take my bra off as soon as I can when I get home.  I wear a built in cami tank top around the house usually with pj pants.  My dad used to walk around in his undies in the morning while we were getting ready for school (sometimes).  Ick.

<div>Yeah, like it's not gross, it just looks like a screenshot from the Grudge or something. </div>
  • Ugh, this last hour of work is going really slowly and now I wish FI and I had tickets to at least one home football game that we could go to with our friends. This is what I get for talking about sports.

Petal, yay for the wedding present!

  • What's in the box, Petal? I'm curious.
  • Any - I totally agree with you on the 3D ultrasounds.  CREE-PEE.
  • We didn't have 3-D ultra sounds when I was PG.  Maybe I'm just old school about some things, but they creep me out.

I'm going to go trim the grass around the garden beds...with flipping hedge clippers.

    Back later.
  • This and a pack of hot chocolate K-cups. So excited. It's from my dad's cousin who couldn't come to the shower.

I hate when the doorbell rings. My heart starts pounding and I get scared, even with FI here.

  • I was so glad to get a k-cup holder. H and I don't necessarily like the same things, and our kitchen is too small to have all the boxes out. We got the one with the pull-out tray.
  • If anyone is ever at the door, I'm always freaked out and I don't want to answer it. I don't know why.

    Petal, that sounds awesome!

  • Here, I'm mostly worried anyone knocking at the door is going to try and convert me. Our postman rings the doorbell =P
  • FI doesn't drink coffee at all but I like the flavored ones every so often. I love hot chocolate though. It will also be nice to be able to offer company coffee. I felt bad when my bff was here last weekend and we didn't have coffee/coffee maker.

  • My dad has a packet of different spiritual quotes and ideas that he keeps in the entryway closet. If any evangelist of any religion comes by trying to distribute literature, he grabs the packet and says "sure we can talk about your info and I will take it, as long as we can also talk about my packet and you take it with you." Not one person has taken him up on the offer. Hah.

We had break-ins right around when I moved in last September and it just scares me now. Our doorbell rang so many times between the police visits and neighbors checking in or telling us about other break-ins. I'm just irrationally paranoid that it's going to be a criminal or something.

    ETA: That's funny, Musu.

<div>I should probably be more like this but I usually (read always) answer the door. The first time someone knocked at the door at my new place it was a police officer. That's how I found out someone in my building is on parole. Sweet. </div>
  • Petals - thats scary, I would different be terrified everytime the doorbell rang as well if that happened to me.

Musu - thats hilarious about your dad! My parents are fairly religious and have religious figures/fixtures around the house which are clearly prominant from the front door and when my parents tell them that they already have a religion and dont/wont consider converting they still continue to press. My dad has taken to start talking to them in various languages now and pretend he cant speak english.

<div>I so wish I knew. I'm pretending it's for possession of marijuana because that doesn't bother me a bit. </div>
  • Glo, that would have been scary.  Not necessarily the person on parole but the first person to knock being a police officer.

    Musu, that's really great.

Ugh, I'm irrationally irritated at my loudly laughing coworker.  Our office is almost always dead quiet and she is over there laughing and whispering to herself.

  • I would pretend too, Dino.

Every so often I look up my address on the sexual predator website to see who is nearby. Is that weird?

  • I also get my dads point about how they are hypocrites. Expecting to waltz up to someone's house and try to convert them when they themselves are unwilling to listen to someones point of view.

<div>We've had JWs once to our house. My mom (being a very philisophical person) invited them in and had a debate with them for two hours. They never came back.</div>
  • Edie, I don't know the name. I know it's a female though. That's it.

Rsanna, it was a little bit alarming. It didn't help that it was 9am on a Saturday.
