  • Morning!

I hated sick day inqisitions at my old job. One manager asked that I call back two hours later with an update of my condition seeing if I could work. Gah.

H just left  on a business trip :( I will miss him. It's his first week at this job and they already have him leaving! He gets back Friday. I guess one benefit is that I can catch up on gossip girl.

Yep! It's my first HM, and I started training for it in on Dec. 5th, 2011, so I've really been looking forward to it. I actually started packing for it last night, even though I don't leave for Orlando till tomorrow lol. I think I slept mayb 4.5 hours last night, I had gotten myself so worked up. I have no idea how well I'm going to sleep on Saturday night, which sucks since that's the night that I will probably need it the most.

  • Mehg, that's exciting!  Best of luck :)  I hope to do a HM in May if I'm lucky.  I put two and two together about your HM through a FB page that I "like"  called Bondi Band.  Apparently, they are going to be there for the Princess Run.  I wish they came to some of the runs I do but they are usually too small.

Yep. it stinks a lot.  Most of the women who have it don't have children, but that's not always the case.  My aunt had it.  She had to have a hysterectomy because of it.

ETA According to the site it's actually more common in women who HAVE had children. Interesting.  My aunts doc told her it was most likely because she's never had kids.
  • Ew ew ew it can actually happen?! Blegh.
  • Chels, that's awful.  Was she older when it happened?  I hope she wasn't planning on having kiddos and had to get the hysterectomy.

Edie - Yep! One of my running buddies and I went on an 8-mile long run a couple weeks ago in full princess getup to see if we had any wardrobe malfunctions, and I'm happy to say, we're good to go. All I have to do is make sure to pin my tutu to my running skirt, so that it doesn't ride up my waist (the fabric of my skirt and tank top is slippery, so it shifts as I run).

The weather is supposed to be around 50F at the start of the race, and warm up from there, so I've got a toss-away jacket and pair of gloves since that's on the cold side for me. Luckily, I'm in Corral D (of A through H) so I'm closer to the start than I thought I'd be, so I won't have to wait around in the cold for very long.

Those sound like perfect conditions, Mehg.  That's what the weather was supposed to be like for us, but it ended up being around 37 degrees that morning I think.  It was still freaking cold at the end of the race.  I coudn't really feel my hands.

  • adamar - was that last year's race? My friend (who's running it with me this year) was saying it was freaking cold last year, so this year she's super-prepared lol.

We have a large network of fellow Coasties who are running the race with us, so the night before the race we're meeting for a big spaghetti dinner to fuel up for the race and get pumped up to run together. We're cheesy, we made t-shirts, but I probably won't wear mine till the drive home on Monday.

[QUOTE]Chels, the woman whose uterus was falling out had 2 kids.  When she was pregnant with her second, she was smoking 2 packs a day, every day.  This is back when you could smoke in break rooms and she would sometimes smoke 2 cigs back to back.  I judge.  For that, yes, I judge. And, yeah, another CW had to leave b/c his wife's mucous plug was coming out.  Wtf, people?  I do not need to know that. At all.  Ever.
