Um..... so being a Christian means I cannot have an opinion?!? I dont even know what you mean by that comment. But as I said in my previous comments (that you obviously didnt ready) I assume the best in people when they post something... even this.

P.S. Who are you?

Matthew 12:36-37 I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak, for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

Pslam 144:1 "Of David. Blessed be the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle"

Proverbs 17:14 "The beginning of strife is like letting out water, so quit before the quarrel breaks out."

Galatians 5:15 "But if you bite and devour one another, watch out that you are not consumed by one another."

Just saying...

I am a Christian. I am not being sensitive. You are not praising her. If you are going to make comments about Christians then you make comments about all of us.
I will pray for you.

And, I forgive you for generalizing Christians.

• I'm late to the party, but putting my 2 cents in. The oldies know who I am, but the newbie may not. As a forewarning...I speak my mind.
SaraAlRamadhan, what you did was not praise her for being Christian, but insult her for being a Christian. As a Christian myself, I am extremely offended by that post. She was just posting her opinion. You had no right to call it silly banter, and to judge how Chelsea shows her Christian values. She does look for the best in people. I suggest, you lurk more on how this board operates, before you start insulting people.

Anyways, I agree that people do get easily offended. Sorry for posting and running but I'm off to work again.

I haven't read past this but holy mother effing shiit that was uncalled for. Chelsea is one of the most Christian people I "know".
• Whoa! Why did religion even get pulled into this?
I thought we were trying to make a point to respect everyone and not to take things too seriously. I don't think Chelsea even said anything about religion. I am not religious..and I don't need to be Christian to find that comment rude.

and really? all this started over "normal" hair. Wow!
If being a Christian means ganging up on people and telling them they're wrong for feeling offended by something someone said and making fun of them because their opinion is different than yours then I'm not sure I would want to be one.
Posted by SarahAlRamadhan
She wasn't making fun of anyone. Telling someone they took something the wrong way is un-Christian? Um no. Not so much. It has nothing to do with opinions. It has everything to do with people reading "normal" and "hair" in the same sentence, taking it out of context, and getting their panties in a twist.

It's extremely rude to judge a person's faith.
• This just ins't "normal" for Christians to behave this way
• The only people who completely ran this topic into the ground and overreacted were the ones who apparently have a problem with others being offended, but yet have no issues becoming offended themselves.

I know you're thinking it was "only a hair comment" vs. a religious comment, but come on people. Use what you learned in history class. One of the major points that had been used for CENTURIES to separate black from white was texture of hair, in a similar way as skin color. I can still understand why those women made the statements they did in the OP based on this line of thought.

The comment about being a Christian was directed at me... yet I have not once said I am offended. And seriously, her comment was meant to be an attack and rude.... OPs "normal hair" comment was meant only to help you with the issue you raised about not knowing waht to do with your daughters hair for the wedding. They arent even related. One was rude and meant to be hurtful, the other was meant to be helpful.

• Sarah, I remember you for coming into the ends of controversial threads and asking people condescending questions they either never saw or never responded to. Then, when I answered "for" them, you never came back.

Chelsea never said anything mean or hurtful. Sometimes, being a Christian and loving others involves a little toughlove. It's not all frilly poofy rainbow love. Sometimes we have to let people know that what they are doing is hurtful to themselves or others emotionally, intellectually or physically. Being offended by every little thing is no way for anyone to live their life. That's all we were trying to say.

But regardless, there's no reason to tell those women who were offended NOT to be. It's not your place. Which has been my only stance the entire thread.

ETA: They ARE related. A couple of you attacked and were rude to the posters who were offended. All of my posts here are not even related to the original "normal hair" comment. They are all related to common courtesy of not telling others how to feel. It's not like those girls threadjacked (unlike what happened here) and spouted off for HOURS about how offended they were. Can't you see the obvious that is right in front on your face? They were very polite and respectable in their responses to that poster. But yet, you still felt the need to purposefully attack them and be rude... similar to what you're criticizing above.

I <3 Midge so hard in this thread (and in general).
The bolded is right on.
I don't get why Christians who are extremely conservative are automatically horrible hateful people in the eyes of more liberal people. A true Christian understands that GOD does the judging, not themselves. However, that's not to say if we see someone doing something that can be harmful to their souls that we won't say something. A parent can tell their child that stealing is bad until they are blue in the face. But that parent will never pass down the guilty sentence or the jailtime because it's not their job.
